Info zu Fortune Teller

As Canadian alt-country artist Bobby Dove releases his third album Fortune Teller on April 24. “Leaving Manitoba,” a tender confessional ballad guaranteed to have listeners reaching for their hankies. Bobby said, “‘Leaving Manitoba’ is a bittersweet song about ending a relationship that never fully became what it was dreamt to be. It’s an ode to the intense emotions that come with unrequited love, set against the expansive backdrop of the Canadian prairies.”

“Leaving Manitoba” follows Bobby’s previous singles from Fortune Teller, which show off the album’s range of styles, from the spine-tingling “Not Much Of An Outlaw,” to the hard-charging twang of “Trans Canadian Blues.” Bobby made Fortune Teller in Toronto with producer Aaron Goldstein (Cowboy Junkies, Kathleen Edwards, Juliana Riolino) and the help of some of the city’s finest players such as guitarist Nichol Robertson, drummer Dani Nash and pedal steel guitarist Burke Carroll. The album also includes a co-write/duet with Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale.

“Dove can write rings around all but the very best of troubadours, telling stories in a compelling way. I suggest you get Bobby Dove on your radar immediately.” (Country Music People, UK)

“The Canadian singer’s refreshing take on classic country has been lovinglycrafted with an obvious affection for its golden age, without ever succumbing to nostalgic fetishism. Like Charley Crockett, they make thekind of music that’s keeping the very heart of country beating.” (Holler Country, UK)

Bobby Dove

Bobby Dove
is a Montreal born singer-songwriter and a magnetic presence in the world of Country and Americana music. With a voice as powerful as their storytelling, this trans/non-binary troubadour pays tribute to the golden age of honky tonk, while crafting original, emotionally charged songs that “blend genres with the touch of a master.” (Mary Gauthier)

In 2021 Bobby released their sophomore record, Hopeless Romantic, co-produced with Blue Rodeo's Bazil Donovan, and Tim Vesely (Rheostatics). The album gained international acclaim and climbed the Canadian Roots and U.S. Alt-Country radio charts.

Touring extensively throughout Canada, in addition to all the local haunts, Bobby Dove has given performances at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Vancouver Island Music Fest, Winnipeg Folk Festival, Dauphin’s Countryfest, National Arts Centre (Ottawa), and has toured in Europe, including a highlight performance at the Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, NL.

Along the road, Bobby has shared the stage with luminaries such as Fats Kaplin (John Prine), Mary Gauthier, Richard Thompson, Ray Benson (Asleep at the Wheel), and Lavender Country.

Currently based in rural Manitoba, Bobby Dove is preparing to release their upcoming full-length album “Fortune Teller” on April 24th 2026. Produced by Aaron Goldstein (Cowboy Junkies/Kathleen Edwards/City and Colour), the new record features 13 tracks, including a cowrite/duet with Grammy winning singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale.
