Je kleiner im Jazz die Besetzungen werden, umso größer ist die Herausforderung für die Musiker. Auf 'I Could Write A Book' darf man als Hörer Zeuge werden, wie zwei Musiker diese Herausforderung glänzend meistern, und dabei ein gut gelauntes und intimes kleines Kammerkonzert auf Vinyl bannen. Der amerikanische Tenorsaxofonist Scott Hamilton, ein legitimer musikalischer Erbe von Ben Webster und Zoot Sims, trifft hier auf den italienischen Pianisten Andrea Pozza. Was diese beiden völlig ohne Bass und Schlagzeug an treibendem Swing auf die Beine stellen ist mehr als beachtlich - Pozza und Hamilton sind sich im Groove so reibungslos einig, dass trotz fehlender Rhythmus-Combo nie auch nur eine Sekunde zum unklaren Schweben im Rhythmus kommt - hier wird geswingt, und wie. Aufgenommen wurde das ganze in einem alten Hotel in der Toscana - keine Nachbearbeitung, keine Overdubs, nur die perfekt abgestimmte Mikrofonierung von Giulio Cesare Ricci sorgt hier für den herrlichen Sound. Scott Hamilton
was born in 1954, in Providence, Rhode Island. During his early childhood he heard a lot of jazz through his father’s extensive record collection, and became acquainted with the jazz greats. He tried out several instruments, including drums at about the age of five, piano at six and mouth-organ. He had some clarinet lessons when he was about eight years of age, but that was the only formal music tuition he has ever had. Even at that age he was attracted to the sound of Johnny Hodges, but it was not until he was about sixteen that he started playing the saxophone seriously. From his playing mainly blues on mouth organ, his little band gradually became more of a jazz band.

Andrea Pozza
debut at age 13 in a historic jazz club Genoa. From that moment on, his career is now more than thirty years, has led him to perform in Italy and abroad with real "sacred cows" of the likes of Harry "Sweet" Edison, Bobby Durham, Chet Baker, Al Grey , Scott Hamilton, George Coleman, Charlie Mariano, Lee Konitz, Sal Nistico, Massimo Urbani, Luciano Milanese and many more.
