is internationally recognised as a pianist of outstanding artistry, sensibility, and versatility.

She is equally in demand both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. In 2010 Oxana won the First Prize at the Scottish International Piano Competition.

Other Competition successes include: First Prize at the International Premio Franz Liszt Competition, Italy (2015); Fourth Prize, the International Music Critic Prize and a Special Prize for the best interpretation of Busoni’s work at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Italy (2009)​; Fifth Prize and the Chamber Music Prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia (2016); Third Prize at the Sendai International Music Competition in Japan (2007) with a special prize for the best interpretation of a 20th Century concerto; Third Prize at the China International Piano Competition in Shanghai (2009)

Career: Oxana gave her first performance as a soloist with the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra at age of nine and made her Western debut in Vilnius with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Juozas Domarkas in 2004. Oxana has since performed with symphony orchestras across the globe including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Radio Symphony Orchestra Pilsen, Orchestre National de Lorraine, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Norrlands Operan Symphony Orchestra, Filarmonica de Stat Transilvania, Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra, Panama State Symphony Orchestra, and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra.

Oxana has worked with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Martyn Brabbins, Pascal Verrot, Koji Kawamoto, Rumon Gamba, Emmanuel Siffert, Tolepbergen Abdrashev, and Anatoly Levin.

Highlights of recent seasons include appearances at Sydney Opera House, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room, Lucerne Festival, Sion Festival, Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Hubei Theatre in Wuhan, Hong Kong City Hall, Sendai City Youth Cultural Centre, Teatro Colsubsidio de Bogotà, Teatro Nacional de Panamá, Norrlands Operan, and Glasgow City Halls.

Successes as Chamber Musician: A keen chamber musician, Oxana has collaborated with musicians such as the Kopelman Quartet, Brodsky Quartet, Ray Chen, Narek Hakhnazaryan, and Alena Baeva.

In 2014, together with the Latvian violinist Jana Ozolina, Oxana Shevchenko received the Second Prize at the Sion International Duo Competition. The two artists starred in the movie “The looser takes it all” by the famous Duo of musicians and comedians Igudesman&Joo.

In 2016, in collaboration with French/German cellist Christoph Croisé, Oxana won the First Prize at the Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition in Verona-Mantova (Italy).

In 2011, Oxana won the Best Accompanist Prize in the Tchaikovsky International Competition, performing with the winner of the competition, the Armenian cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan.

Background & Studies: Oxana Shevchenko was born in Almaty, Kazakhstan where she studied with Valentina Tartyshnaya. She completed her bachelor degree with Tatiana Rakova at the Academic Music College and graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she studied piano with Elena Kuznetsova and Sergey Kuznetsov, chamber music with Tigran Alikhanov, and accompaniment with Irina Kirillova.

Oxana earned her Master's degree after studying with Dmitry Alexeev at the Royal College of Music (London, UK), and with Jean-François Antonioli at the Haute Ecole de Musique (Lausanne, Switzerland).

Oxana is currently attending Corsi di Perfezionamento with Benedetto Lupo at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
