Magdalena Llamas
Andalusian Mezzo-soprano, studied voice performance and piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Granada. After finishing his career in piano, she moved to Madrid where she continued her studies at the "The Superior School of Voice" in Madrid.

Later in the U.S., completed her operatic studies with Carlos Serrano from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, and soprano Sharon Sweet, Fedora Barbieri, Justino Díaz, Jessye Norman and Shirley Verrett, completing her operatic training at The Juilliard School of Music in New York. Winner of awards including the first prize in the "Visconti Competition", the Portland Opera Fellowship, first prize in the "Elsie Hilliard Hillman" Westminster Competition, and first prize at the "Rossini Competition" among others.

She has played roles as Carmen, Donna Elvira Amneris, Dorabella, Sesto, Suzuki, the main role of Luisa Fernanda at Lincoln Center in New York, Romeo, Desdemona, Badessa, Maddalena, Adalgisa, Leonora, Flora, Rosina, Clarina, the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Eboli, Orpheus, Cherubino and Delilah and others in different cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, New Jersey, Arizona, Houston, Miami, Prague, Rome, Milan, Lake Como , Naples, Philadelphia and Washington. She has also participated in various festivals and Miami, Puerto Rico, Washington, Philadelphia, Genevre, Nantes, Naples, Lake Como, Milan, Rome, Kassel and Berlin among others.

In her role as soloist she has presented programs for nine different concert hall of Carnegie Hall, and other as prestigious as the New York Guggenheim Museum` Auditorium, King Juan Carlos I Center in New York, Madrid National Auditorium, Irving Auditorium Philadelphia, CAMI Hall, Merking Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York among others.

She has also worked extensive Oratorio repertoire: Rossini Messe Solennelle, Mass in B Minor, Christmas Oratorio, St. Matthew Passion and St. John Passion of J. S. Bach, Messiah, Judas Maccabeus and Handel's Dixit Dominus, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Boccherini, Rossini and Dvorak, Te Deum Laudamus by Purcell, Mozart's Requiem, Verdi and Fauré, Brahms' German Requiem, The 9th Symphony of Beethoven; Magnificat Bach and Vivaldi, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mass in C Minor and Mass in C Major "Krönung" by Mozart.

For two consecutive years, Magdalena Llamas has presented several concert programs at the Academy of Spain in Rome also participating in the concerts of the Oratorio station of Auditorium Gonfalone in the same city. She has also been a special guest at the Accademia Internazionale di Musica di Roma, Symphony Orchestra di Roma, teaching master classes.

In last November introduced ¨ El Amor Brujo" by Manuel De Falla at Carnegie Hall in New York, several concerts in the Chopin Festival in Geneva, the Cervantes Institute in Rome and the Vatican, ending the year with their Christmas concert with the CAM, in the Auditorium of Murcia next to the Symphony in the same city, and the Gala at "Palacio del Marques de Salamanca" for BBVA. Just presented a concert tour with the "Falla and Flamenco" with the orchestra St. Luke's and the choreographer Ramon Oller at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and the Sydney Harman Hall in Washington. With the Orchestra J.O.N.D.E. she has being singing in Santiago de Compostela, Kassel and the Berlin Koncerthouse.

During the 2013, Llamas has perform "El Amor Brujo" with Richardson Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Clay Couturiaux and in Granada, Spain, featuring the Festival "El Legado Andalusí" History of Al-Andalus.

She also is part of the Jury in International Singing Competition "Fidela Campiña" in Spain.

This year Magdalena Llamas will participate in concerts organized by the Embassy of Spain in Prague, New York, , Boston, Albuquerque, Los Angeles and San Francisco, among others. Act operas: Aida, Norma, Don Carlo, Cosi fan tutte and Carmen and in the Verdi Requiem Symphony Rome The Vatican, Rome, New York and Washington. In C.O.M.A. Festival International Contemporary Music Festival of Madrid recently introduced the music of Spanish composer D. Sebastian Mariné. At the Festival of Sacred Music in Madrid with the Camerata del Prado and world première Oratory by Ramón Garay under the direction of Tomás Garrido, in the National Auditorium in Madrid Film Music, Verdi's Requiem and Symphony no. 9 "Choral" by Beethoven with Maestro Janos Kovacs, director of the Budapest Opera, and the presentation of World première of Baroque music discover in the Royal Palace of Madrid "Farinelli at the Court of Madrid" recently with "Arte Musico" at Auditorium Conde Duque of Madrid.

In March 2010 she presented her discographic work with "Verso" label, with works by the composer José Luis Greco. During 2010 and 2011 she has recording various projects, including three CDs with the complete works of Gonzalo de Olavide and two more with the music of Gerardo Gombau, both very influents composers in the history of music in Spain, both also recorded with the Orchestra and Choir of Radio and Television of Spain (OCRTVE) and under the direction of Maestro Arturo Tamayo, and "Leyenda" By Composer Sergio Cervetti,with JONDE Orchestra, and director Jordi Bernácer. In 2012 she recorded with the conductor José Luis Temes the compositions of Santiago Lanchares. Mss. Llamas will record in 2014 the composer's works of Jesus Legido with pianist Josu Okiñena for the discographic "Verso"

Since the last three years she has an intense work with Koala Productions, co-producing DVD and Blu/Ray projects. One of them was a "Portrait" dedicate to Maestro Cristobal Halffter collaborating with Foundation BBVA.

She has collaborate also as Music Director in different CD´s projects dedicates to F. Chopin, E. Granados and Manuel de Falla for the french record label "Mirare" and with the international pianist Luis Fernando Pérez as well as Orchestra of San Sebastian, Tomás Garrido, Trio Arriaga, Azumi Nishizawa. Indeed, she has collaborate in the Minus One of "Zarzuela Forever" for Union Musical Ediciones (The Music Sales Group)

At this moment she just record as a soprano soloist "El Cántico De La Pietá", wonderful score conducted and composed by legendary Spanish composer Maestro Antón García Abril and the OCRTVE. This DVD and Blu/Ray will be included in a Portrait dedicate to García Abril, celebrating his 80 anniversary. Also Llamas is preparing her soloist CD-DVD/Blu-ray "Great Cycles of Spanish Music". The first one will be dedicate to Manuel De Falla, works with mezzo-soprano and orchestra.

She teaches voice performance at the City University of New York (CUNY) and Fordham University Lincoln Center of New York.
