With this recording, the celebrated Kucharsky/Hopkins duo finish their Schubert cycle, this time joined by British cellist Thomas Carroll.
The monumental second Piano Trio and the Arpeggione Sonata (recorded on Yehudi Menuhins very own Testore viola) show two very different sides of Schubert as a chamber music composer: a nearly orchestral work and one of the most intimate duo pieces of the entire music history.
