Giorgio Caoduro is one of the leading Italian baritones of his generation and one of the reigning Bel Canto singers of today. He has appeared at such renowned opera houses as the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opéra National de Paris, La Scala di Milano, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Regio Torino, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, Liceu Barcelona, San Francisco Opera, or Los Angeles Opera House. At the center of his singing are the bel canto roles of Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini and Verdi. With his selection of highly virtuosic arias from operas by Rossini, Giorgio Caoduro reminds us of the dazzling richness of the repertoire composed for this type of voice, a repertoire in which the old roles of basso buffo, the more modern ones of tyrants, afflicted fathers or repentant criminals converged, and finally where the roles of mature heroes were already appearing, roles to which Verdi would give, a few years later, their letters of nobility.

geboren in Monfalcone, Italien, entwickelt sich schnell zu einem der führenden italienischen Baritone seiner Generation und debütierte in den letzten Spielzeiten am Royal Opera House Covent Garden, an der San Francisco Opera, dem Teatro Comunale di Bologna, der Opéra national de Paris, der Berliner Staatsoper, der Frankfurter Oper, dem Teatro Regio di Torino, dem Teatro Carlo Felice in Genua und in Aix-en-Provence. Er arbeitete mit Dirigenten wie Carlo Rizzi, Jesús López-Cobos, Riccardo Frizza, Bruno Bartoletti, Daniel Harding, Bruno Campanella, Nicola Luisotti, Daniel Oren, James Conlon, Michel Plasson, Zubin Mehta und Regisseuren wie Pier Luigi Pizzi, Jérôme Savary, Massimo Ranieri, Irina Brook, Sir Peter Hall, Toni Servillo, Luca Ronconi, Stefano Vizioli, Denis Krief, Andrei Serban, Francisco Negrin, Marco Bellocchio und Laurent Pelly. In der Spielzeit 2012/13 debütierte Giorgio Caoduro an der Washington National Opera als Lescaut in »Manon« und an der Florida Grand Opera als Germont in »La traviata« und kehrte für »Lucia di Lammermoor« nach Sydney zurück. 2013/14 war er an der Opéra de Lausanne in einer Produktion von »Il barbiere di Siviglia« als Figaro zu sehen. 2008 bis 2012 war er wiederkehrend am Teatro alla Scala als Figaro und Belcore zu erleben und stand hier mit Rolando Villazón und Nino Machaidze auf der Bühne. Er war Dandini in »La Cenerentola« an der Opéra de Nice und Figaro sowohl in Toulouse als auch in Sydney. Sein Debüt an der San Francisco Opera gab er als Belcore und am Royal Opera House Covent Garden als Ping in »Turandot«. Er debütierte an der Los Angeles Opera mit der Rolle des Dulcamara in »L’elisir d'amore« unter James Conlon und war mit dieser Partie auch auf der Bühne der Berliner Staatsoper zu sehen. 2012 wurde er mit dem Australian Green Room Award als bester Opernsänger geehrt. An der Semperoper Dresden ist Giorgio Caoduro in Jean-Philippe Rameans Oper »Platée« zu erleben.
