Info zu The Shadow Of Your Smile

Hailed as a "Sax Phenom" by the New York Daily News, Chad LB is a featured artist on 2 GRAMMY winning albums, and has toured through 6 continents playing venues from Carnegie Hall to the Super Bowl.

“It’s hard to find another artist in the greater jazz-contemporary space who is as compelling as Chad. He is always audience focused and communicates the most authentic version of himself whether it’s through Clapton, Coltrane, or Cole Porter. You can’t help but be mesmerized by his proficiency on the horn and deep understanding of these genres and styles.” (Producer Christian Wiggs)

LB runs the gamut of styles on this album from classical and jazz standards to classic rock and doo-wop. LB reveals, “I go through different phases of what I want to experiment with. Right now I’ve been really enjoying taking songs from different eras into the quartet format.”

The quartet, composed of Liya Grigoryan on piano, Ben Tibero on bass, and Mike Piolet, is a hyper-collaborative outfit that intentionally leaves room for innovation on arrangements.

LB praises, "Mike Piolet can bring a vibe to anything we try and Ben and Liya are so musical and energetic with their interpretations of the harmony. Sometimes I bring in something loosely arranged and sometimes we just try something with no plan and see where it goes."
