Mit der Musik des brandneuen Albums „Mysterium Lunae“ auf der Setlist macht der Pianist Lorenzo De Finti nach 2019 jetzt zum zweiten Mal Station in Tübingen. Der Südschweizer mit Lebensmittelpunkt Milano hat am Guiseppe Verdi Konservatorium in Milano und am Berklee College of Music studiert. Nach seiner eher „elektrischen“ Zeit – u.a. in Los Angeles – ging er auf die Suche nach „acoustic atmosphere, silence … the right sound“ und ist seit 2018 mit seinem akustischen Quartett unterwegs. Die Musik, die vor allem live in Bann zieht, ist nicht unbedingt in die gängigen Jazzgenres einzuordnen. Lange, gefühlvolle Pianopassagen, ein Kontrabass, gespielt vom langjährigen Partner Stefano Dall`Ora , der Stimmungen und Melodien aufnimmt und weiterführt, oft mit der Trompete als Soloinstrument verwoben, dann wieder Groove und swingende oder auch ganz freie Passagen. Das Lorenzo De Finti Quartett öffnet mit traditionellen Instrumenten völlig neue Räume und Klangsphären. Schon die Titel der Stücke wie „Mysterium Lunae“, „Whispers from the End oft he World“ oder „Tiny Candle in the Storm“ versprechen eindrückliche und bewegende Klangreisen. Oder, wie das Magazin jazz-fun meint: „ Schön ohne Wenn und Aber – absolut empfehlenswert!“

Lorenzo De Finti
began playing the piano at the age of five and began playing in public at the age of eleven. He began his formal studies under the guidance of Maestro Remo Gelmini and completied his studies under Maestro Alberto Colombo at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi of Milan.Lorenzo also completed his studies in Traditional composition and was given the opportunity to delve into jazz improvisation with world renowned Maestri Sante Palumbo and Gil Goldstein at the “Jazz and Rock Inc.” in Monaco, Germany and Berklee College of Music in Boston.With his outstanding technique and artistic expression, Lorenzo was immediately recognized by the media and began playing some of the most important musical venues in Europe.Specialtized in jazz and contemporary music, Lorenzo has travelled back and forth from Europe to the United States, collaborating with important musicians such as J. Gregg, B.Dameo, T.Robinson, S.Kimmons, D.Freemann, G.Goldstein, C.Vilchez, S.Hunt, Dany Martinez, T.Scott, T.Dambley, Alex Acuna, Ernestico Rodriguez, Eric Marienthal, Frank Gambale, M.Abrams, The Harlem Gospel Singers, J.Bisonette, and many others.In 1999, the musical group, the “Lorenzo De Finti group,” recorded “BEYOND THE DESERT” featuring guest stars percussionist Alex Acuna and sax player, Eric Marienthal.

From Los Angeles the cd was distributed throughout America, Japan, and Northern Europe. Becoming a hit in the world of Electric Jazz, the group toured all around the world, participating in various jazz festivals.

During his world tour, Lorenzo was recognized and recruited by Yoshihiro Doi, president of Yamaha Instruments.

Since the summer of 2000, Lorenzo has been an endorser for Yamaha Keyboards, touring all over Europe with “The Yamaha Band.”

In 2005 The “Lorenzo De Finti Group” produced its second album “GROOVE CONNECTION” featuring Giorgio Di Tullio, Eric Marienthal, Stefano Dall’Ora, Sandy Chambers.

The band toured as“The Yamaha Band” with endorsers such as drummer, Christian Meyer, bassist, Faso, and vocalist, Paola Folli.

This imbellished, notorious, formation toured all over Europe, promoting the new cd, produced by Lorenzo.His third production COLORS OF LIFE has just been released and involves musicians such as GiorgioDi Tullio, Christian Meyer and Marco Castiglioni on drums; Fabrizio Bosso and Gendrikson Mena on trumpet, Luca Scansani, Alex Carreri and Stefano Dall (Ora on bass), Eric Marienthal on sax and singer Kate Kelly.Lorenzo continues to work along some of the most established italian musicians (Paolo Costa, Fabrizio Bosso, Tullio Ricci, Alex Carreri, Giorgio Di Tullio, Danilo Minotti, Tullio De Piscopo, just to name a few) in the world of modern music and jazz.Other albums graced by Lorenzo’s magical touch include: Nemmeno la Notte (Chopin Express), Dreams and Drums (Giorgio Di Tullio), Chemical Blend (A.Carreri), People (Heart of Life), Pilgrims (Holy Night), Pilgrims (Silent Night), Freedom (Angel’s Choir), Talking Back (A.Bertozzi), Davide DeMarinis, Lollypop, Dineka Lips, Ziggy Marley, T.Proctor, T.Carasco, P.Amelio, C.Pastori (Zelig), John Stanson Band (Voices from America), Ney Portillo (Boa Viagem), Back To The Root (Open Quartet), The Traveler (Nick Angileri) and many others.

Composer and producer of many television commercials (Reebok, Sharp, DeAgostini, Opel, Mercedes Benz) television shows (Genius-Rete 4, Lo stivale delle meraviglie-Canale 5, La macchina del tempo, Cento vetrine, Streghe, Marte e Venere, the Horiscope) he works for italian network RAI and Mediaset, swiss network RSI, and spanish network TVE, along with underlying music for various radio stations. “WE LIVE HERE, suite for jazz quartet” is the first album of Lorenzo’s acoustic quartet, and has been released by the norwegian label Losen Records (www.losenrecords.com)

Along with the project “Scena Musica,” Lorenzo realizes and partecipates in live musical theater concerts such as BLUES POINT, BEATLES!, CROSSROADS, REPLAY, and NOEL with 45-50 annual performances.

Musical director of the band and co-writer of the music in William Shakespeare’s theatrical work “La Dodicesima Notte (The Twelfth Night), directed by F.Brancialroli with vocalist, Rita Pavone, and actor, Renzo Montagnani, at the Roman Theater of Verona.

Lorenzo holds seminars and master classes on performance and technical aspects of piano and keyboard exhibition in Italy, Spain (M.I.T., Madrid), Switzerland, and Germany.

Lorenzo currently holds his own jazz and classical radio show on Rete Due in Lugano, interviewing many important musicians and musicologists and commenting on live concerts.
