Die Sopranistin Francesca Aspromonte und der Geiger Boris Begelman präsentieren zusammen mit Arsenale Sonoro ein Programm, das sich mit den Wechselfällen der Liebe beschäftigt. In Un’alma innamorata fordert Aspromonte uns auf, unsere amourösen Verliebtheiten selbst in die Hand zu nehmen, anstatt sie Amors Pfeilen anzulasten. Das Programm besteht aus mehreren weltlichen Kantaten mit Violino concertante – darunter das berühmte Mi palpita il cor und eine Weltersteinspielung von S’un dì m’appaga la mia crudele –, die mit Instrumentalsonaten durchsetzt sind. Der kammermusikalische Gesamtansatz von Un’alma innamorata verstärkt die emotionale Wirkung der von Aspromonte dargestellten tragischen Heldinnen.

Francesca Aspromonte, die als eine der besten Interpretinnen des barocken und klassischen Repertoires gilt, schloss ihr Studium am Mozarteum in Salzburg mit Auszeichnung ab und studierte bei Renata Scotto an der Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Francesca nahm für die Deutsche Grammophon, Sony DHM, Alpha Classics, Christophorus, Harmonia Mundi, Ricercare und HDB Sonus auf. Sie unterzeichnete einen Exklusivvertrag mit Pentatone Music und ihr Debütalbum Prologue (eine Auswahl von Opernprologen aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, von Monteverdi bis Scarlatti) mit dem Ensemble Il Pomo d'oro und Enrico Onofri wurde weltweit von der Kritik gelobt. Ihr zweites Album für Pentatone Maria&Maddalena (laut Gramophone eine der besten Aufnahmen des Jahres 2022) porträtiert die beiden Marias in Oratorien des frühen 18. Zu ihren zukünftigen Plänen gehören ihr Debüt in der Titelrolle in L'incoronazione di Poppea von Monteverdi beim Beaune Festival, ein Robert Schumann gewidmeter Liederabend mit dem Pianisten Domenico Codispoti in La Coruña, die Tibute to Bach Gala beim Bachfest Leipzig, die Veröffentlichung ihres dritten Rezital-Albums für Pentatone mit Arsenale Sonoro unter der Leitung von Boris Begelman. Seit 2019 unterrichtet Francesca Interpretation des italienischen Barockrepertoires am Königlichen Konservatorium von Den Haag.

Founded by Boris Begelman in 2014, the Arsenale Sonoro ensemble quickly gained critical acclaim with their debut album for Sony DHM, dedicated to Telemann's sonatas for violin and basso continuo.

In 2022, they released an album dedicated to Domenico Scarlatti on Obsidian Records. It presents an interesting interpretation of some sonatas that are usually performed on harpsichord, but whose virtuosic writing, full of leaps and arpeggios, suggests they were intended for violin and basso continuo.

Specializing in the 18th-century repertoire, Arsenale Sonoro has performed in various chamber and orchestral formations at such festivals as the Valletta Baroque Festival, Timisoara Early Music Festival, Musik&Kirche Brixen, Mittelfest, Pur ti miro Festival, Urbino Early Music Festival, Amici della Musica di Firenze, and the Concerti del Quirinale.
