Info zu In Memoriam I

"Ein halbes Jahr vor meinem sechzigsten Geburtstag erlitten meine Familie und ich einen schweren, tragischen Schlag, als mein Sohn Dorian starb. Obwohl ich immer noch in meinen Grundfesten erschüttert bin, scheint mir ein Weg nach vorne darin zu bestehen, der Musik eine konstruktive und heilende Rolle zukommen zu lassen. Deshalb habe ich Bachs Fünfte Suite und Kodalys Solosonata als Scordatura-Album aufgenommen, das im Oktober als In Memoriam II veröffentlicht wird. Das erste In Memoriam für meinen geliebten Dorian besteht aus einer Wiederveröffentlichung der drei größten Violin-Klavier-Stücke von Schubert und den wunderbaren Trockenen Blumen Vartiations, da Schubert in seinem Leben als Sänger und Musikliebhaber eine große Rolle gespielt hat."

Dies ist der Text, den Pieter Wispelwey zu dieser ganz besonderen Veröffentlichung geschrieben hat. Zu diesem ersten In Memoriam gibt es nicht viel hinzuzufügen. Lediglich, dass die Aufnahme bereits veröffentlichtes Material enthält, das aus der Reihe der sechs Bände stammt, die der Transkription von Musik von Schubert und Brahms gewidmet sind. Neben den oben erwähnten Trockenen Blumen enthält sie die Sonate D.574, das Rondo D.895 und die Fantasie D.934.
