Info zu BLUE LIPS ([lady wood phase II])
Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum, 2 billion-streaming artist Tove Lo announces today that BLUE LIPS [lady wood phase II], the highly-anticipated phase II and final two chapters of the Lady Wood era will be released on November 17 via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. BLUE LIPS will contain Tove Lo’s current single “Disco Tits” whose video, premiered earlier this month, has surpassed 4.1 million YouTube views to date.
BLUE LIPS is the intended companion to Tove Lo’s Top 10 second album Lady Wood. The complete Lady Wood story is told across each album’s 2 chapter’s – Fairy Dust and Fire Fade off of Lady Wood, and Light Beams and Pitch Black off of BLUE LIPS. The provocative, critically-acclaimed album included “cool girl”, the worldwide platinum single whose video has netted over 48 million YouTube views to date. “cool girl”, was one of five songs from Lady Wood that was featured in Fairy Dust, the raw and bold 31-minute film that accompanied the album release, in which Tove Lo made her acting debut alongside “alter ego” co-star Lina Esco (Kingdom, Flaked).
Fairy Dust was followed up with last month’s release of Fire Fade, a 21-minute film again starring Tove Lo, which incorporated five additional songs from Lady Wood and closed out her Lady Wood Phase 1 era in groundbreaking cinematic fashion. The brainchild of Tove Lo and Swedish director and co-writer Tim Erem, the graphic Fairy Dust ignited a controversy that first led YouTube to remove the film after its premiere, only to reinstate it hours later. Fairy Dust was hailed by V magazine as “a raw, beautiful, and proudly provocative exploration of sexual desire, obsession, denial, and pain.”
Tove Lo’s landmark debut platinum album Queen Of The Clouds and critically-acclaimed follow up album Lady Wood have sold over 3 million global adjusted albums. Her Queen of the Clouds album included “Habits (Stay High)”, the career-defining 5x-platinum global #1 hit that introduced her to global audiences, and the triple-platinum follow-up, “Talking Body” (#3 on Billboard Pop Airplay, #12 on the Hot 100). Tove Lo has surpassed 2 billion global streams and also has been the featured artist on tracks by Nick Jonas (“Close”), Coldplay (“Fun”), Years & Years (“Desire”), Broods (“Freak Of Nature”), Adam Lambert (“Rumors”), Flume (“Say It”), and Alesso (“Heroes”).
