Info zu Current: MISSING
MISSING is a powerful opera confronting the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. With music composed by Brian Current and a libretto by Marie Clements, it follows Ava, a young woman whose encounter with the spirit of a lost Indigenous girl changes her forever. The Artists of The Opera MISSING (ATOM) and Continuum Ensemble, led by conductor Timothy Long, weave contemporary classical music with Gitxsan language and cultural traditions, moving through grief, memory, and justice, ensuring these voices continue to be heard.

Caitlin Wood
made her debut with Pacific Opera Victoria in the title role of the company’s 2015 school tour production of Mary’s Wedding. She returned to Pacific Opera for the role of Ava in the 2017 world première production of Missing by Marie Clements and Brian Current and as Annina in Verdi’s La traviata. During the 2019/20 season, Caitlin appears as the lover in Il tabarro and Alms Sister in Suor Angelica as part of Pacific Opera’s company première of Puccini’s Il trittico. Caitlin will also reprise her role as Ava in Missing, when the opera is remounted in Victoria, Regina, and Prince George.
