Studium Chorale
was founded in 1972 and has developed into one of the leading chamber choirs in the Netherlands. The repertory of the choir spans five centuries of choral music, from polyphony to newly commissioned works. This new releases features the world premiere recording of a motet by Dutch composer Marcus Teller. Composed in 1726 the motet reveals a rich harmonic idiom and excellent craftsmanship in vocal and instrumental writing.

Hans Leenders
is one of the most talented and inspiring Dutch conductors of the new generation in The Netherlands of the middle ’90’s . He studied conducting and percussion at the Rotterdam Conservatory. During his studies, he received the 'Kranichsteiner Musikpreis' at the 'Ferienkurse für neue Musik' in Darmstadt (1992). Early in his career, Hans Leenders was awarded the 'Anton Kersjes' scholarship for young conductors which enabled him to follow master classes with Ilja Moesin, Valery Gergiev and Jorma Panula. He was finalist at the International Kirill Kondrashin Competition for conductors.

In 1999, Leenders was appointed assistant-conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra with Valery Gergjev. In 2004, he won the Cadaquès conductors competition. His career as a conductor really took off in 2001 when he gave an impressive performance when replacing Maestro Valery Gergiev at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra for the opening concert of the Gergiev Festival, followed by a concert in the Matinee Series in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. The concert of this most important concert series in The Netherlands was broadcasted live on television. Both performances in Rotterdam as well in Amsterdam were enthusiastically acclaimed both by audience and the press.

In August 2004, Hans Leenders made an outstanding debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. All major newspapers unanimously considered this performance as very convincing and spectacular. Since then, he conducted many Dutch orchestra such as The Hague Philharmonic, The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Brabants Symphony Orchestra. In 2008, he conducted during the National Liberation Day on the 5th of May in Amsterdam the official concert in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
