Für viele von uns mag ein Klavier wie jedes andere klingen – es sei denn, es wurde für einen bestimmten Zweck umgebaut oder das Alter hat seinen Tribut gefordert. Für Carlos Cipa hingegen eröffnet jedes einzelne Instrument ungeahnte neue Möglichkeiten. Dies wird spätestens auf seinem nun erscheinenden Studioalbum Correlations (on 11 Pianos), deutlich. Für das Projekt hat Cipa sorgfältig verschiedenste Instrumente mit besonderem, individuellem Charakter ausgewählt: sechs Flügel, drei Pianos, ein Tafelklavier und ein Rhodes. Entstanden ist ein faszinierendes Spektrum an Miniaturen und Stimmungen, das die Grenzen zwischen Komposition, Performance und Prozess verschwimmen lässt.

Carlos Cipa
Pianist und Multi-Instrumentalist aus München, begann seine klassische Ausbildung am Klavier bereits mit sechs Jahren und studiert derzeit Klassische Komposition an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Als Jugendlicher wechselt er ans Schlagzeug und war Mitglied verschiedener Bands. Bereits damals begann er sich mit unterschiedlichsten Musikstilen auseinanderzusetzen und fand so am Klavier sitzend den Weg zu Komposition und Improvisation.
In den letzten drei Jahren hat CARLOS CIPA über 60 Konzerte über ganz Europa verteilt gespielt und die Bühne mit gleichgesinnten Musikern wie HAUSCHKA, ÓLAFUR ARNALDS und VALGEIR SIGUR SSON geteilt.
Auch auf großen Festivalbühnen wie HALDERN POP 2014 oder MSDOCKVILLE 2014 begeisterte Carlos mit seiner dynamischen, virtuosen und gefühlvollen Performance.
