With „Plans and Plays“ Berlin based trumpeter Christian Meyers presents his third album already and the second album with Meyers Nachtcafe. This electric band reminds you of Roy Hargrove’s RH Factor or the music of Rick Braun.
The band plays only self-compositions of Christian Meyers and Martin Johnson. Their repertoire goes from funky jazz, driving grooves to lounge-like songs.
Meyers Nachtcafe has become a sought after live act since their first album in 2010. Eckhard Stromer (drums), Alex Uhl (bass) and Rüdiger Nass (guitar) form one of the best-rehearsed rhythm section in the south-west. Martin Johnson is a great fellow musician and soloist on the one side but also a guarantor for a superior band sound.

teaches jazz trumpet at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and worked amongst others with the HR Big Band, RIAS Big Band, WDR Big Band, Bobby Burgess Big Band Explosion, Big Band Convention Köln, Jazz Factory Orchestra, Stuttgart Jazz Orchestra, Sunday Night Orchestra, Pepe Lienhard Band, Brass Band Berlin, Lilly Thornton, Klaus Lenz, Tilmann Dehnhard, RSBrass as well as different theatre productions in Stuttgart, Bad Hersfeld and Berlin (at the moment in the Udo Lindenberg cult production "Hinterm Horizont")
