Biographie Lisa Berg

Lisa Berg
musical world is more than just sounds. Invited by french musicians Bertrand Cantat (Noir Désir) and Pascal Humbert (16 Horsepower/ Wovenhand) to record 3 songs for their new CD "Horizons" with the band "Détroit" in 2013, she occasionally joins the band on their tour.

Her own music is supported by the melodic voice of her cello, providing a kind of unique storytelling experience, haunting the audience through a magical world of emotion and intensity.

She is producing and performing her own works with an admirable precision, always following her feeling. Underlined by electronic sound effects her newest compositions create a deep atmosphere surrounded by spherical vibrations.

Talented and charismatic, Lisa is one of the leading cellists on the Luxembourgish music scene. Passionate and inspired by the cello at young age, she focused continuously on her skills (and took external masterclasses for cello and baroque cello in Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Finland whilst studying classical cello at the Conservatory in Maastricht)

Very soon she developed her own techniques and started experimenting with different styles of music, discovering the power of improvisation. After she became acquainted with well-known german cellist Wolfram Huschke in 2005 she bought his 5 string electric cello together with his loop station and started to do her own compositions.

As an open minded person, Lisa worked on numerous projects from accompanying poetrists with her cello to a cooperation with pianist David Ianni for the film "Follow me home" by Vito Labalestra. She has composed music for a documentary and played with a wide range of artists in the studio as well as live on stage.
