Antonio Garés
was born in 1988 in Córdoba (Spain). He graduated in guitar at the Córdoba Conservatory and began studying singing with Juan Luque Carmona, before continuing his studies with Donatella Debolini at the Conservatorio "L.Cherubini" in Florence. In 2017 he won the "Best Tenor" award at the Carlo Guasco International Competition in Alessandria, in 2018 he was a finalist at the "Andrea Chénier" Competition in Foggia. He was selected for the Rossini Opera Academy in Canada directed by Alberto Zedda and debuted the role of Dormont in La Scala di Seta. He also attended the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro and the Accademia del Maggio Musicale in Florence. Upcoming engagements include Il Turco in Italia (Albazar) in Jesi, Rimini, Novara and Pisa; Handel's Ode to Santa Cecilia in Treviso; and La Fanciulla del West in Naples.
Miriam Albano
Thanks to her exceptional vocal range, which allows her to freely move between soprano and mezzo, Miriam Albano is familiar with a vast and eclectic repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary works.
Born in Venice, Miriam studied singing at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in her hometown before furthering her studies at the University of Music in Vienna. She perfected her technique under the guidance of esteemed artists such as Brigitte Fassbaender and Anne Sofie von Otter.
Miriam's voice has been recognized on the international stage, with notable victories at prestigious competitions, including Neue Stimmen in Germany (2015) and Francisco Viñas in Spain (2016). She also had the honour of representing Italy as a finalist in the Cardiff Singer of the World competition (2017). Beyond her remarkable vocal abilities, Miriam is also an accomplished violinist, adding yet another dimension to her artistic talents.
From 2016 to 2019, Miriam was a soloist in the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera, where she debuted the roles of Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro and Annio in La Clemenza di Tito.
For the Salzburg Festival, she brought to life the enchanting role of Puck in Purcell's The Fairy Queen. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, she captivated audiences as Zerlina in Don Giovanni, as Stephano in Romeo et Juliette, and as the title role in Rossini's La Cenerentola.
She continued to shine as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro as well as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, the Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux, and the Teatro Regio in Turin. For the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, she delivered memorable performances both as Cherubino and as Melanto in Monteverdi's Ritorno di Ulisse in patria. ...

As a guest conductor he has appeared among others with Wiener Symphoniker, Staatskapelle Dresden, Münchner Rundfunkorchester, SWR Symphony Orchestra, Orchester der Komischen Oper Berlin, Hamburger Symphoniker, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, Tonkünstler-Orchester, Orchestre National de France, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Teatro Regio Torino, Orchestra dell’Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice, Orchestre de Chambre de Genève…
With the Staatskapelle Berlin, he launched a special project dedicated to The Art of Fugue. For 20 years, projects with his own period Ensemble, the Academia Montis Regalis, embraced performances at the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Bergamo Donizetti Festival, Paris Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and London Wigmore Hall. From 2009 to 2023, De Marchi held the position of Artistic Director at the Innsbruck Festival. A passionate advocate for lesser-known works, he has championed Cimarosa’s Matrimonio segreto and Graun’s Cesare e Cleopatra (Staatsoper Berlin), Hasse’s Cleofide (Dresden), Haydn’s Orlando Paladino (Concertgebouw Amsterdam), Pergolesi’s Olimpiade (Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Innsbruck, Pergolesi Festival in Jesi), Porpora’s Germanico in Germania and Leonora by Ferdinando Paër (Innsbruck)… He conducted the first modern representation of Merope by Farninelli’s brother Riccardo Broschi at both the Innsbruck Festival and Theater an der Wien. Equally associated with the operas of Rossini and Handel, De Marchi has conducted Ermione at the Naples Teatro di San Carlo, La Cenerentola, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, L’Italiana in Algeri and Demetrio e Polibio at opera houses such as Teatro Regio Torino, Staatsoper Hamburg, Semperoper Dresden, Staatsoper Berlin, Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, La Monnaie Bruxelles.
He has led Giulio Cesare, Alcina, Teseo, Orlando, Rinaldo, La Cenerentola at Semperoper Dresden, Opéra de Lyon, Komische Oper Berlin, Aalto Theater Essen and at the Handel Festspiele Halle. Other career highlights include Bach’s Matthäus-Passion at both the Theater Basel and Deutsche Oper Berlin, Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice in Hamburg and Baden-Baden. Mozart forms an extensive part of his activities: De Marchi has led performances of Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito (Innsbrucker Festwochen and the National Theatre in Prague), Don Giovanni (Hamburg, Berlin), Così fan tutte (Brussels) and Le Nozze di Figaro (Berlin Staatsoper, Hamburg Staatsoper) as well as Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Dresden). An extensive discography includes La Sonnambula with Cecilia Bartoli and Juan Diego Flórez for Decca, Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno for Hyperion, Vivaldi’s Juditha triumphans and Orlando finto pazzo for Naïve, Monteverdi's L’Incoronazione di Poppea for EuroArts, Donizetti's Enrico di Borgogna and L’Elisir d’amore for Dynamic (DVD). For Sony/Harmonia Mundi, he released the CD Handel-Caldara: Carmelite Vespers 1709 and three world premiere recordings: L’Olimpiade by Vivaldi, La Stellidaura vendicante by Provenzale and Flavius Bertaridus by Telemann. With Sonya Yoncheva he issued an album dedicated to Handel on Sony Classical followed by concerts at Salzburg Festival and Paris Philharmonie among other cities. His recording of La Clemenza di Tito was awarded a Diapason d’Or.
Among De Marchi’s recent and forthcoming engagements are Rossini’s L’Inganno felice in Rome and Rieti, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale at Teatro Regio di Torino and L'Elisir d'Amore in Tel Aviv, as well as Rossini's Maometto secondo and Verdi's La Traviata at the Istanbul State Opera, and the great gala jubilee. Encounters with Bach embracea stage version of Matthäus-Passion for the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Christmas Oratorio for the Hamburg Staatsoper. With the Badische Staatskapelle De Marchi conducted a series of Baroque concerts for the Händel Festival in Karlsruhe. In Buenos Aires at Teatro Colón, he conducted a concert with Bruno de Sá, followed by Opera productions and Concerts at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Oslo, and Teatro Massimo Bellini Catania. Upcoming is Rossini's Viaggio a Reims at Deutsche Oper Berlin followed by a new production of Mozart's Idomeneo at Staatsoper unter den Linden, Berlin with Rolando Villazón. At Grafenegg he will conduct the Tonkünstlerorchester Niederösterreich with Emily d'Angelo.
