Enrico Rava, Trompeter aus Triest, und Fred Hersch, Pianist aus Cincinatti, teilen eine tiefe Verbundenheit zur Tradition und einen ausgeprägten Sinn für melodische Innovation. Auf dieser Aufnahme, bei der Flügelhorn und Klavier in der großartigen Akustik des Auditorio Stelio Molo in Lugano zum Tragen kommen, erkunden Rava und Hersch einige hoch geschätzte Standards: Jerome Kerns "The Song Is You", Thelonious Monks "Mysterioso" und "'Round Midnight", Jobims "Retrato em Branco e Preto" und George Bassmans "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You".
