Jugendwerk von Suk: Er war noch ein Jugendlicher als er es schrieb. Dennoch zeugt es von einer grossen Inspiration und einer Sonderbegabung. Der erste Teil hat einen sehr offenen Charakter mir einem deutlichen dramatischen Einschlag. Es gibt einen grossen Gegensatz zwischen den Akkorden die quasi mit Glockenläuten die Komposition eröffnen und dem zweiten e- ma im Cello das fast ein sentimentales Singen hervorbringt. Der zweite Teil fängt sehr frivol an durch den punktierten Rhythmus der sich in jedem Instrument wiederholt. Es baut sich eine pastorale Atmosphäre auf, bis sich ein inniger Klimax herausstellt. Das Werk endet mit einem rhythmisch vernünftigen „Vivace“ in dem die Streicher ohne das Klavier mit einem von der punktierten Rhythmik und Artikulation aufge- peitschten Thema anfangen.

The emerging Belgian piano trio Impression, winner of all three prizes at the international ‘Storioni Toonzaal Prijs’ 2015 (NL), is made up off the sisters Fien and Riet Van den Fonteyne (violin & violoncello) and pianist Florestan Bataillie. These passionate musicians got to know each other at the international chamber music festival ‘Musica Mundi’. The trio was initially formed as a part of their studies at the Royal Conservatories of Antwerp and Brussels, but it quickly evolved outside the school walls to an appreciated ensemble. They have performed at Flagey, Bozar, Flemish Opera Ghent, Royal Conservatory of Brussels, deSingel, Casa da Musica in Porto, the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Frits Phillips in Eindhoven ...
