‘Better Broken’ has an effortlessly nostalgic tone. The piano riff is mixed with funkier organ, bass, and guitar edge. There is a lullaby quality to the main melody, which is then dressed in some light Southern jazz-funk. The production has a vinyl spit to it and some filters that emulate the calm of lo-fi beats, too. Sarah’s voice is silky smooth and as confident as ever.
