Fossora is the 10th album from singular icon Björk. Its name is derived from the feminine version of the Latin word for digger, and draws from Björk’s experience being grounded during lockdown in her native Iceland. Using her characteristically eclectic musical style, Björk folds in different influences and styles on Fossora. Amidst earthy bass clarinets and tender thematic explorations into her ancestry are vigorous gabber eruptions, culminating in a sort of “biological techno”. The end result is a mixture of the fantastical and the personal - a bold artistic excursion from a distinctly individual, restless creative force.
