Biography Ensemble Double Face

Anaïs Yvoz
holds a bachelor's degree in musicology and a bachelor's and master's degree in opera singing from the Haute école de Musique de Lausanne.

She trained in early music by participating in projects at the Centre de musique ancienne de Genève under the direction of G. Garrido and L.G. Alarcon.

In September 2017, she joined the opera studio of the Opéra national du Rhin in Strasbourg, where she performs a wide repertoire ranging from Baroque music to contemporary works.

Anaïs has won several international prizes and competitions, including the Swiss Colette Mosetti Foundation, the Vienne en voix international competition and the Léopold Bellan international competition in Paris.

A curious and flexible artist, she regularly collaborates with various orchestras, including the Berlin ensemble Le Seuil Musical (conducted by A. Arbet), the French orchestra Les Epopées (conducted by S. Fuget), Le Parlement de Musique (conducted by M. Gester), the Norwegian orchestra Orkester Nord (conducted by M. Wåhlberg), and the German company Opera Classica Europa.

She has sung on the prestigious stages of the Frankfurt Opera, the National Opera of the Rhine, the Metz Opera, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Victoria Hall in Geneva and the Zenith in Strasbourg, among others.

She performs regularly abroad, notably in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Germany and Switzerland.

Double Face
is an ensemble created in 2017 by cornettist Marie Garnier-Marzullo, inspired by her particular fondness for vocal music.

The programme is structured like a conversation between soprano and cornet... first with a cornett, then with a cornetto, offering remarkable colours and building bridges between the Renaissance and Romanticism.

The ensemble evolves in concert: the theorbo becomes a romantic guitar, the violone a double bass, with the support of a pianoforte or organ. The instruments played in the 19th-century repertoire are historical originals.

What a cornetto does so well: supporting the human voice, Double Face does naturally with the cornet. Old recipes, delicious in Monteverdi and his contemporaries, seduce with their surprising relevance in Mendelssohn!

Double Face presents eclectic programmes – the result of 25 years of experience – and breaks free from academic codes for an ‘unheard-of’ experience.
