Info for HEARTLAND (Deluxe Version)
Nashville-based singer-songwriter MORGXN releases the deluxe edition of HEARTLAND, which combines his two critically acclaimed 2025 EPs into a full-length album featuring six new songs.
The 16-track expansion boasts collaborations with special guests Maggie Rose, Tenille Townes, Ruby Amanfu and JB Somers. Along with the news, MORGXN has shared a reworking of his anthemic 2024 single "MY REVIVAL," with Maggie Rose adding her soulful vocals to the infectious statement of resilience.
MORGXN on revamping "MY REVIVAL" with Rose: "There's a myth that a song is over once you release it and it does what it does or doesn't. For me, songs have different lives. 'MY REVIVAL' has continued to tell me it wasn't done expressing itself, and who am I to stand in the way of that? Ever since I moved back to Nashville and the sonics of what I've been exploring had been shifting with it, I wanted to find a way to come out (pun intended) with a 'Nashville version' of some of my favorite songs. When I heard Maggie Rose's album No One Gets Out Alive, I was so moved by not only her vocals but the heart and journey it took to create a new sound than the one she had done before. I think it takes guts to do something different in this town, and I am so honored she said yes to bringing this version to life."
Rose adds: "I have always admired MORGXN's ability to spread positivity and truth through music, so it was an honor to be invited to be a part of the re-imagination of "MY REVIVAL" and help him realize his vision on this joyful song. The chorus melody is so uplifting and singing and spending time with him is a dream."
MORGXN opened up about the world of HEARTLAND with People and The Tennessean, who hailed the project as "a love letter to home, to his husband, and to the resilient queer community in the south." The Bluegrass Situation declared he's "thriving as he 'reclaims his Nashville roots'" and "subverts expectations of musical and cultural stereotypes of country." The entire album is fueled by this irrepressible spirit, incorporating everything from the soundscapes of electronica to the uplift of gospel music and the Southern storytelling of American folk. "MY REVIVAL" follows MORGXN's festive holiday original "EVERY SEASON," released last fall.

MORGXN
After releasing his evocative debut album vitalin May 2018, morgxn found himself experiencing a reaction he’d never anticipated. “All of a sudden, there are so many people connecting with who I am and what I’m saying and what I’m going through. I’m not alone,” recalls the Los Angeles-based musician.
2018 brought a series of new milestones for morgxn, all in quick succession. He found himself at Lollapalooza, peering out at the throngs of fans who had packed in to catch his afternoon set where he duetted with Walk the Moon frontman Nicholas Petricca on a new rendition of his rafters-reaching song “home.” The two re-recorded the track and released a video in September, sending the song into the top 10 at alternative radio and adult alternative while accruing upwards of over 25 million combined global streams. This past January, morgxn made his late-night TV debut performing “home” on Jimmy Kimmel Liveand Last Call with Carson Daly.
Still experiencing feelings of loss, as well as bouts of anxiety , morgxn realized that he needed to cast off these shadows by creating new music. “Vitaljust sat in my heart like a weight and then releasing that,” he recalls, “I wanted to find a new way forward. And the only way to do that was keep moving forward blindly, and make music.”
The songs that followed capture an artist coming to terms with who he is as a person, and how he hopes to navigate life. In late March, he released the deeply visceral “Holy Water,” a plea to release him from the burdens that he found himself saddled with. “Holy water falling, falling down on me / Take the load off, take it all from me,” he sings, his tender falsetto ricocheting against the stomping percussion and bleary synthesizers.
If “Holy Water” was an attempt to shed his skin, “A New Way” strikes a more optimistic tone, dreaming of a path that exists out of anxiety. The song plays as an uplifting meditation on the possibility of where life can take you. “I want to do things in a different way,” he says of the inspiration that struck him while recording it. “I want to make music that is real and have that be enough. Have it not be about how hot you are, how cool you are or how much of an asshole you are. What about somebody’s heart and that being art — and that being enough?”
morgxn’s main focus now is moving on from the past, and allowing life to lead him where it will. “‘home’ was this big moment where a lot of big things happened, and it comes with pressure of where do you go next?” he says. “Rather than letting that question eat me alive, I just dove off the nearest cliff. Released all pressure. All I did was make new music and now I can’t wait to see where it takes me.”
The world according to morgxn is one where traditional boundaries do not exist. At the core, alt/pop artist morgxn is a storyteller navigating the expanse between everything devastating and joyous about the human condition. Live, morgxn’s soulful voice and magnetic presence set an intoxicating and mesmerizing mood. Creating a collection of danceable, relatable and memorable songs, morgxn continues to move seamlessly between the alternative and pop worlds. Over the past two years, morgxn has been not so quietly releasing new music which culminated in a debut album, vital, and a lush, acoustic EP vital : blue (s t r i p p e d), made festival debuts at Lollapalooza, Firefly, LaurelLive and Hangout Music Festival, toured extensively (X Ambassadors, Phoebe Ryan, Skylar Grey, miike snow, Dreamers, Robert Delong, ARIZONA) received megawatt licensing looks (ABC, HBO, SHOWTIME, NBC, The CW, USA Networks) and has garnered high praise across the board.
