The energy and feel of melodic 60's jazz - lifted to our time: Lyder Røed Quintet is back with a new album called Telling It Like It Is.

It is the next album in line after Upside Down which was released the 30th of August 2024. The album consists of 9 tunes with a wide palette of different expressions rooted in the jazz tradition.

The new album has the hard swinging post bob blue note sound together with some deep blues and latin parts. This album is straight to the core of what this band is about. Making music they love from their favorite jazz period with a fresh modernistic take.

Lyder Røed
runs the bands Freespace, Lyder Røed Quintet and Slow Is The New Fast. He is also known as the trumpetist of several other bands. Most notably the band Fieh which has played across the world and played several big festivals and clubs over the years. Other bands worth mentioning could be Ojkos, Sun Byrd, Mosambique, Bangkok Lingo, Terje Isungset, Silje Nergaard. Røed writes a lot of music and has just written a big piece for Ojkos (Freespace) and new music for Lyder Røed Quintet which is to be released autumn 2024.
