Info for La femme: Journey of Female Composers

Through much of history the language of women has been told through men, but La Femme turns this narrative upside down. All of these composers share an unrelenting will to be artistic, often in opposition to the societies in which they found themselves. From the very earliest medieval verses by Kassia via the blind virtuoso Maria von Paradis' famed Sicilienne and holocaust victim Ilse Weber's moving Wiegla, to powerful modern statements by the likes of Niloufar Nourbakhsh and Flaka Goranci's own contribution, The Speech of Love- this entire project is dedicated to all creative women in music.

Flaka Goranci, mezzo-soprano
World Chamber Orchestra
Konstantinos Diminakis, conductor

Flaka Goranci
”In this voice you can find everything: Lyric, Bel canto – Coloratura, Italian, French, German or Slavic Zwischenfach…” like this is praised the young Kosovo/Austrian mezzo-soprano Flaka Goranci from the ”Neue Merker” critic in Vienna.

Flaka Goranci set out studying piano, before changing her major to singing. She obtained her bachelor degree at the Music Academy of Tirana in Albania.

Master studies followed at ”Buchmann-Mehta-School of Music” – Tel Aviv University in Israel, from where she graduated.

Flaka has worked under distinguished conductors including Nicolaus Harnoncourt, Gustav Kuhn, Ulrich Windfuhr, Leslie Suganandarajah, Enrico Delamboye etc.

With opera directors such as Uwe Eric Laufenberg, Stephen Lawless, Andreas Zogg, Ulrich Schulz, Carlos Wagner among others.
