Jane Getter
has played with many jazz and rock greats while garnering increasing recognition as a bandleader and gifted writer and instrumentalist. Early in her career she toured with legendary jazz/blues organist Brother Jack McDuff, which provided invaluable training ground. Her composing talents received attention when she won the ASCAP Gershwin Award for Music for Dance or Theatre in the mid 90’s. At this time, she also recorded and toured with Michal Urbaniak’s band Urbanator, featuring Kenny Garrett, Lenny White and Tom Browne. Getter then teamed up with writing partner Lenny White (the legendary drummer from Return To Forever), and co-wrote Urbanator’s smooth jazz hit “Hopscotch”, along with other compositions featured on White’s “Present Tense” and “Acoustic Masters” CD’s. She then received widespread exposure playing in the Saturday Night Live Band.

Her debut CD “Jane” received worldwide critical acclaim. “See Jane Run”, her 2nd CD was released in 2006 on Alternity Records, (at the time the home of Allan Holdsworth). This CD is a powerful statement, containing the classic jazz/rock anthem “the Loop”. She next recorded “Secret Code” a special guitar duet project with guitarist Bruce Arnold and was released in 2009 on Muse Eek. Her latest progressive jazz/rock release “three” was released in 2012 on Alternity Records and features a stellar crew of NY’s finest – Adam Holzman (Miles Davis keyboardist and currently keyboardist in Steven Wilson’s Band (from Porcupine Tree), James Genus (Saturday Night Live bass player) and Anton Fig (drummer in David Letterman’s CBS Orchestra).
