Matthias Bublath’s Munich Summer Jazz Week im August 2016 war eine besondere Herzensangelegenheit. Im Vordergrung stehen stark groovende und zupackende Stücke aus der Feder von Matthias Bublath, die vom Soul und Funk geprägt sind. Der Bass wird, wie in Orgel Bands üblich, vom Fusspedal der Hammond B3 übernommen.

Durch den geschmackvollen Einsatz von Fender Rhodes Piano und analogem Synthesizer erhält die Musik eine weitere ungewöhnliche Schattierung. Die Band glänzt mit enormer Spielfreude und einer Frische die den hochkarätigen Solisten viel Raum für Improvisation gibt.

Durch den sehr unterschiedlichen und weiten Horizont der fünf Musiker wird der funkige und warme Sound der Hammond B3 Orgel in unsere heutige Zeit übertragen.

Matthias Bublath
is a pianist, organist and composer. He has performed worldwide at various festivals and events such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Kora Awards (Johannesburg ,South Africa), the Kennedy Center Of The Performing Arts ( Washington, USA) and toured throughout Japan. Among other things, he lived as a freelance musician in New York City for over seven years and established himself as one of the most versatile keyboard players in the city. He performs with a wide variety of projects ranging from jazz, blues, funk and gospel to Latin American rhythms. In addition to piano and keyboard, Matthias is a specialist on the Hammond B3 organ, and works with an organ trio as well as various other organ projects.

He has released eight CD's under his own name and presents a diverse and always grooving program.

Matthias Bublath has shared the stage with jazz greats like funk legend Mike Clark, Tower Of Power saxophonist Lenny Picket or Cuban percussionist Candido Camero.
