Violincello & guitar - a charming combination played by two exceptional artists: cellist Lena Kravets and guitarist Tobias Kassung let their instruments sing and seduce the audience into the world of Lieder, Songs & Canciones. Kravets & Kassung combine classical songs by Brahms and Schubert, jazz songs by George Gershwin and Ella Fitzgerald, Spanish Canciones by Manuel de Falla, Russian romances by Michail Glinka and Tango-Ballads by Astor Piazzolla. With breathtaking musicality and perfection, they captivate the listeners. You can tell from the first note how Kravets & Kassung love this music and put their whole heart and soul in every tone. An impressive experience of great musicians! In 2011, Lena Kravets and Tobias Kassung established their duo. Under the motto The Art of Dialogue, they developed a very individual programme, which inspires the audience in numerous concerts across Germany. Lieder, Songs & Canciones is their first joined album and a very personal tribute to the singing.

Lena Kravets
Violoncellist Lena Kravets, born in Tashkent, lives in Cologne since 2006. She earned her artistic diploma at the Hochschule für Musik Köln in 2014 with distinction. Since then, she has been working as a freelance cellist, mainly in chamber music and as a member of the Cologne Classical Ensemble.

Tobias Kassung
Cologne based Tobias Kassung is one of the prominent German guitarists of his generation and is dedicated to expanding the borders in his profession. In 2003 he founded the Cologne Classical Ensemble, for which he remains the Artistic Director. Since then, he established several chamber music projects: The Astor Trio, multiple duos, quartet and quintet repertoires. He is also active as a composer of solo works and chamber music.
