Christian Mattick
studied in Munich with Paul Meisen as well as with Aurèle Nicolet and Philippe Boucly. He is a member of the Bavarian Chamber Orchestra and co-founder of the Ensemble Cassander – Music of the 20th Century Munich. He performs concerts throughout Europe in diff erent chamber music formations such as the Duo Mattick Huth, the Pegasus Trio, and the Ensemble Bach34.

His television appearances on ZDF, BR, and ARD and radio broadcasts for Bayerischer Rundfunk, SWR, Hessischer Rundfunk, and Radio Bremen are supplemented by numerous CD productions. He received the Children to Olympus award of the Cultural Foundation of the German Federal States, the Music Advancement Award of the City of Munich, and the Inventio Award of the German Music Council.

In addition to his solo career, Mattick was joined by other Munich musicians in launching the Music You Can Touch initiative, which introduces children and young people to an active musical life in a non-dogmatic way.

Thomas Etschmann
studied guitar with Eliot Fisk at the Mozarteum Salzburg. In addition to classical music, he is also interested in jazz (touring with Mal Waldron, among other artists) and early music. He is a multiple winner of international competitions, including those of Radio France in Paris, Seto Ohashi in Japan, and Mauro Giuliani in Italy.

He has made a name for himself in the professional world through his interpretations of contemporary guitar music as well as his crossing musical boundaries between folk, jazz, and classical music. He took part in the Munich Biennale under the direction of Hans Werner Henze and has repeatedly been invited as a soloist on concert tours as far as Japan.

In addition to his career as a performer, he always finds time for his own compositions, which include works for solo guitar, chamber music with guitar, and film music. His compositions have been published by Gendai in Japan and Akustik Gitarre in Germany, among others. He performs in the Munich Guitar Trio, for which he also composes, as well as in different orchestras such as the Orchestra of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg.
