Andreas Willwohl
is one of the leading violists of his generation. In a age of 14 he studied in the Specialist School for Music at Belvedere Castle in Weimar, later he commenced his studies at the “Franz Liszt” Musikhochschule in Weimar continuing a year later at the “Hanns Eisler” Musikhochschule in Berlin with Alfred Lipka and Wilfried Strehle.

Of great artistic incentive for him was the support of, inter alios, Christoph Poppen, Thomas Kakuska and Kim Kashkashian; in chamber music Norbert Brainin, Eberhard Feltz, Walter Levin, Andras Keller and the Alban Berg Quartet.

Andreas Willwohl has appeared at international music festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein music festival, the Castle Concerts in Thun, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Salzburger Festspiele, and has played with Guy Braunstein, Thomas Brandis, Wolfgang Böttcher, Nobuko Imai, Michael Sanderling, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Johannes Moser, Isang Enders, Lauma Skride and Daniel Heide.

Andreas Willwohl has appeared as a soloist with several major orchestras, including the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Brandenburg Symphonie Orchestra, the Korean Chamber Orchestra, the German Chamber Orchestra Berlin and the Metamorphosen Chamber Philharmonic (Berlin), collaborating with conductors of the likes of Marek Janowski, Patrick Lange, Christoph Poppen, Matthias Foremny, Conrad van Alphen and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, and appearing in venues including the Berlin Philharmonie, Seoul Arts Center, Toppan Hall in Tokyo, the Auditorium in Dijon, and Metz Congress Hall. He is also been active as a chamber musician, and so he is the member of the Mandelring Stringquartet and of the Ensemble Ceres.

The winner of international awards, he received too a study grant from the German People’s Foundation for Study, and also from the Yehudi Menuhin foundation ‘Live music now’. Andreas Willwohl has from 2001 to 2013 been principal violist in the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2011 Andreas Willwohl was appointed professor at Nuremberg University of Music, and he has given master classes around the world.

After one of his appearances at the Berlin Philharmonie, a critic wrote: “Not since the Alban Berg Quartet’s Thomas Kakuska have I found the performance of a violist in a chamber music ensemble so utterly convincing.” Andreas Willwohl plays an instrument by Stefan Peter Greiner with a bow by Dominique Peccatte.

Isang Enders
has quickly established himself as a dynamic artist in search of new-concepts and works for the violoncello. Born into a German-Korean musician family in Frankfurt in 1988, Isang Enders began studying with Michael Sanderling at the age of twelve. His playing has since been influenced by his studies with Gustav Rivinius, Truls Mørk, and above all, by the mentoring of the American cellist Lynn Harrell.

At the age of twenty, Isang Enders was appointed principal cello of the Dresden Staatskapelle, making him the youngest section leader in Germany. During his four years with the orchestra, he also co-founded the Gohrisch Shostakovich Festival alongside Tobias Niederschlag.

Isang Enders recently made his debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra, enjoyed collaborations with the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker and Stavanger Symphony orchestras and performs regularly with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. He has worked with eminent conductors including Myung-Whun Chung, Christoph Eschenbach, Pablo Heras-Casado, Eliahu Inbal, Zubin Mehta and Vasily Petrenko.

He has most recently performed Unsuk Chin’s Cello Concerto in both Stavanger and Paris, and performed the Korean debut of Dutilleux’s Cello Concerto as well the Shostakovich Cello Concerto with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. As a dedicated chamber musician, he continues to work closely with the pianist Igor Levit, with whom he has toured extensively, as well as Kit Armstrong and Sunwook Kim.

Last season he made his debut at the Bach Festival in Montreal, and spent the summer at the Malboro Music Festival in the US. He performs regularly as a recitalist at Heidelburger Fruhling and Rheingau Musikfestivals. His highly-acclaimed and early recording of the Bach Cello Suites on Berlin Classics was a triumph. One critic describes him as a “reflective and highly intelligent young man”. Isang Enders is signed to Berlin Classics and SONY Music Entertainment and plays an instrument by Jean Baptiste Vuillaume (Paris, 1840).

Daniel Heide
Hailing from Weimar, Daniel Heide is one of the most sought-after collaborative pianists and chamber musicians of his generation. He performs in concert series and festivals throughout Europe and Asia, including in the concert halls of Vienna, Berlin and Dortmund, London’s Wigmore Hall, at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg/Hohenems (Austria) and Vilabertran (Spain), Heidelberger Frühling and at the Oxford Lieder Festival.

He regularly partners with singers such as Andrè Schuen, Christoph Prégardien, Simone Kermes, Britta Schwarz, Roman Trekel and Tobias Berndt. In addition, he performs Lieder recitals with Regula Mühlemann, Fatma Said, Christina Landshamer, Benjamin Appl, Sheva Tehoval, Dietrich Henschel, Dorottya Lang, Patrick Grahl, Katharina Konradi, Hanno Müller-Brachmann, Luca Pisaroni and Johannes Weisser. Likewise, he loves collaborating on drama projects with narrators and actors, and has worked with individuals including Christian Brückner, Udo Samel, Thomas Thieme, Markus Meyer and Hanns Zischler. He also enjoyed a close working relationship with the Greek-German mezzo soprano Stella Doufexis.

The CD they recorded together entitled “Poemes”, featuring songs by Claude Debussy, received the German Record Critics’ Award. Daniel Heide has performed sonata recitals with soloists including Sabine Meyer, Andreas Willwohl, Tabea Zimmermann, Antje Weithaas, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Jens Peter Maintz and Danjulo Ishizaka, among others.

He is the founder and artistic director of the “Der lyrische Salon – Liederabende auf Schloss Ettersburg” concert series. Created in 2011, this is one of the few concert series worldwide dedicated purely to song. He has performed over 50 Lieder recitals at the event as the piano partner of many renowned vocal soloists. His first CD with songs by Robert Schumann, Hugo Wolf and Frank Martin, which he recorded together with South Tyrolean baritone Andrè Schuen under AVI, received the ECHO Klassik award for “Best Newcomer (Singer)” in summer 2016. The latest CD released by the duo, entitled “Wanderer” and featuring songs by Franz Schubert, reached the Top 20 of the classic charts in 2018.
