StimmGold Vokalensemble
Biography StimmGold Vokalensemble
The StimmGold Vocal Ensemble
has been an integral part of the German-language vocal music scene since its founding in 2014. The six classically trained singers share not only years of ensemble experience and extensive choral background, but above all, a joy in singing demanding works together. The ensemble focuses on German Romantic vocal music and contemporary a cappella repertoire, including world premieres of contemporary works and modern arrangements created specifically for the ensemble, in which the professional voices impress with their expressive power and harmonic clarity.
The ensemble's own composition competition, first launched in 2018, is closely linked to the cultural themes of their home city of Regensburg and has so far produced nearly 450 new vocal works. The ensemble's first CD, "Golden Moments for Christmas," was released by Spektral Records in November 2019. On the same label, the second CD recording followed in 2021, featuring six-part works by Hans Leo Hassler, Heinrich Schütz, the commissioned composition "Farben der Glocke" (Colors of the Bell) by Enjott Schneider, and prize-winning works from past Regensburg Composition Competitions. The third CD, "Durch den Wald" (Through the Forest), dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Max Reger, was released in 2023. For the entire "Durch den Wald" project, the StimmGold Vocal Ensemble received a grant from the German Orchestra Foundation, four OPUS KLASSIK nominations in the categories of "Ensemble of the Year," "Choral Recording of the Year," "Classical Music Without Borders," and "New Classical Music," as well as a nomination for the German Record Critics' Award in the "Choral & Vocal Ensemble" category. In 2024, StimmGold was awarded second prize at the prestigious American competition CARAS (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards).
