Jamina Gerl
Artistic depth, technical superiority and remarkable sense of tonal color are the trademarks of the young German pianist Jamina Gerl. Born in Bonn, she was accepted as a full student at the Cologne “Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln” at the age of only 15 years. After completing the Diplom degree in instrumental performance under Professor Roswitha Gediga, she became a student of Russian-born pianist and conductor Eduard Zilberkant, continuing her academic studies with a full scholarship at the University of Alaska in the United States.

Competition triumphs and increasing concert engagements soon took her to Great Britain, America, Italy, Switzerland, China and Japan. These included prestigious venues such as the New York Steinway Hall, Carnegie Hall, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Beethoven-Haus Kammermusiksaal, Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall Seattle, Sichuan Conservatory Concert Hall and Munetsugu Hall Nagoya. Radio and TV recordings were produced in cooperation with mdr, WDR, DLF and Deutschlandfunk Kultur.

Following the Master of Music in Piano Performance, Gerl was an assistant at the Catholic University of America until the end of 2012, where she studied under Nikita Fitenko in the doctoral programme. She received further inspiration from master classes with Paul Badura-Skoda,, Bernd Goetzke, Menahem Pressler, Jerome Rose, Massimiliano Ferrati and Rose Marie Zartner. Her solo Debut CD “Wanderer” (TYXart) was broadcasted worldwide on the radio and gained international recognition among experts through numerous reviews from Europe, USA and Canada. In addition, the CD was presented in special features at WDR, Hessischer Rundfunk, klassikaraadio Estonia, as well as in the Kulturradio of the rbb and was named "CD of the day" (ORF), "CD of the week" (Klassik-heute) and "Recommendation of the Month" (FONO FORUM):
