Kammeroper München
Since 2004, the Munich Chamber Opera has stood for sophisticated music theater of a special kind. With its renditions of well-known works and rarities of the concert and opera literature, it has earned itself an established place in Munich’s cultural life.

The ensemble’s performances are characterized by audience-oriented and imaginative productions, original stage concepts, and unusual musical arrangements. A central focus is the exceptional vocal and acting quality of the young singers, making the Munich Opera ensemble a forum for the promotion of young talent.

In addition to major stage works, the Orchestra of the Chamber Opera regularly presents concert evenings and composer portraits with the participation of wellknown artists such as Gerd Anthoff, Brigitte Hobmeier, Thomas Loibl, Michaela May, Christine Ostermayer, Friedrich von Thun, Lisa Wagner, and August Zirner. Musical highlights also include concert projects with singers such as Juliane Banse, Daniel Behle, Okka von der Damerau, Robert Gambill, Günther Groissböck, and Waltraud Meier.

Aris Alexander Blettenberg
was born in 1994 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. He has made a name for himself as a pianist, conductor, and composer. In October 2021 he won the International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna. He is also a First Prizewinner of the International Hans von Bülow Competition Meiningen 2015 in the Conducting from the Piano category.

Aris Alexander Blettenberg performs in major concert halls such as the Vienna Musikverein, London’s Wigmore Hall, and the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels as well as at renowned festivals such as the Kissinger Sommer, the Ruhr Piano Festival, and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. He collaborates with Julia Fischer, Christian Tetzlaff, Julian Rachlin, the Frankfurt Museum Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Chamber Orchestra, and the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, among others.

The German-Greek musician received his training in Munich, in Salzburg, and in Hanover. His teachers include Lars Vogt, Antti Siirala, and Bruno Weil. He also received further inspiration from Rudolf Buchbinder, Gerhard Oppitz, Imogen Cooper, and Vladimir Jurowski.

Aris Alexander Blettenberg is a recipient of the Steinway Prize 2019 and the Bavarian Art Prize 2020, and is an alumnus of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. Since March 2022 he has been an official Bösendorfer artist.

Christophe Gördes
born in Munich in 1965, received his first piano lessons when he was six years old and began playing the clarinet at the age of thirteen. After studying music in Munich, Vienna, and Hanover, he first worked for Microsoft Network, where he was responsible for the areas of music and film.

Concert tours with the Bavarian State Opera and a number of ensembles later took him throughout Europe. He has collaborated with such conductors as Leonard Bernstein, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, and Zubin Mehta.

In 2004 Christophe Gördes co-founded the Munich Chamber Opera, which he has directed ever since. In addition to Germany, the Chamber Opera performs in Austria, Switzerland, and Italy.
