Ensemble Encore & Vokalensemble

Ensemble Encore
It is the moment when the chord settles in completely and the overtones begin to resonate, when six voices become one and while singing you become one with the sound. Anyone who has had this experience as a singer wants to do it again. At least that’s how the members of Ensemble Encore experience it over and over again.

The members of the young a cappella sextet have been singing together since September of 2015. The six singers met at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. All of them had already discovered their passion for choral and ensemble singing prior to studying voice and music education in a variety of formations. Consequently, the subject "vocal ensemble" in the curriculum offered a welcome opportunity to pursue the captivating chords together with like-minded singers at a high artistic standard. The group harmonized so well that they have continued to make music together ever since.

Their repertoire is broad—from jazz to Gesualdo—in combination, too, and is intended to sound natural and authentic, without amplification.

In their work until now the singers have been inspired by experience gained in master classes given by Singer Pur, the Calmus Ensemble and the King’s Singers. Early successes on their shared path were prizes in the Carl Wendling Chamber Music Competition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart (Second Prize), at the International A Cappella Competition Leipzig in 2017 (amarcord Special Prize for their interpretation of the motet Die Elenden sollen essen by Gottfried August Homilius), and were awarded First Prize at the ZÜBLIN-Kulturpreis in Stuttgart in July of 2017.
