For many years, the jazz quartet My Lena has been arranging standards from the Great American Songbook as well as pop tunes by various songwriters. The band especially loves playing pieces by the renowned composer Irving Berlin. Even after his songs are over, the musicians still feel his melodies resonate lovingly. Because all the members of My Lena had revealed themselves to be Berlin-lovers over the years, they developed this album together - a playful program with arrangements of his unmistakable hits, lullabies and trouvailles of his lesser known songs.

Milena Buzzo
Schon in der Kindheit singt Milena nicht nur mit ihrer Familie beim Abwaschen, auch in der Singschule Adliswil-Langnau und bei Auftritten in der Schule ist sie gerne dabei. Später tritt sie mit Chören und Bands auf und nimmt Gesangsunterricht. Die Musik wird für sie ein Rückzugsort, ein Anker und ihre grosse Leidenschaft! Sie entschliesst sich, Singen zu ihrem Beruf zu machen. ​

Während und nach dem Studium an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) ist sie mit bekannten schweizer Musikern und Bands als Backgroundsängerin auf vielen Bühnen zu sehen (CH, DE, AT).

Als Solosängerin komponiert sie ihre eigenen Songs oder singt in verschiedenen Jazzformationen. Mit dem Jazzquartett My Lena lebt sie seit einigen Jahren ihre Liebe zum Great American Songbook aus und schreibt Songs für andere Projekte. ​

Milena unterrichtet mit viel Erfahrung, Herz und Leidenschaft an der Musikschule Konservatorium Zürich (MKZ) und bei Instrumentor in den Stilrichtungen Pop/Rock/Jazz.
