Info for Mozart: Piano Concerto No..18, K.456 & No.19, K.459

Mitsuko Uchida’s interpretations of Mozart are renowned for their intelligence, elegance, and sensitivity. She continues her acclaimed collaboration with The Cleveland Orchestra, which was recognized with a 2010 Grammy Award, with performances of two more of Mozart’s piano concertos.

Another installment in Uchida’s much-admired and Grammy-Award-winning Mozart piano concerto series with the Cleveland Orchestra. Like the composer at the premieres, Uchida directs from the keyboard and enjoys an unusual rapport with one of America’s ‘Big Five’ orchestras.

This new live recording combines the B flat Major Concerto, No. 18, K456 and the F Major Concerto, No. 19, K459, both part of the great series of piano concertos Mozart wrote in Vienna in the mid-1780s.

“Mitsuko Uchida’s Mozart playing is stunningly sensitive, crystalline, and true.” (Boston Globe)
