Info for Violet Drive
Infectious, hypnotic and atmospheric debut album from the London-born, Berlin-based band. The motorik of Krautrock paired with electro insignias, claps, toms and shakers, plus a Tom Wait's swampiness, which manifests itself in brilliant guitar blues & jazz licks that create exciting restlessness, and grandiose, the senses with a sense of pop melodicism and sphericism gorgeous semi-whisper vocals, which reminds a bit of Marten Devoldere (Warhaus) or Fuyji & Miyagi, wow. Sometimes a good shot of No Wave is added The disparate influences of psychedelic rock, blues, NYC punk funk and techno merge into a fantastic whole here. Sometimes halfway danceable, sometimes for swinging, with dynamics and smack, great!
Kerala Dust
Kerala Dust
was formed in London in 2016. Raised on the sounds of CAN, The Velvet Underground and Tom Waits while spending their time in nightclubs, they now combine these diverse influences of psychedelic rock, blues and techno into their music. "Late night driving sounds; or maybe you're on a street somewhere in the western hemisphere and a shiny new car drives by you too fast, like something out of a glossy magazine, and before you know it, it's gone." Kerala Dust that's Edmund Kenny on vocals/electronics, Harvey Grant on keys, Lawrence Howarth on guitar. Their live performances are a constant conversation around the sounds from the studio. Pieces are reinterpreted, looped, disassembled and reassembled. Since their first tour in 2017, Kerala Dust has played over 150 international shows in the US, Europe, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, Dom Republic and many more. Events like DGTL (Tel Aviv), Dockville (Hamburg), Lightning in a Bottle (California), Kater Blau (Berlin), Tropico (Mexico), Sonar (Barcelona) are just a few in a long list of festivals and nightclubs. And Kerala Dust have only been playing for a few years.
