When selecting the pieces for this album, I focused on composers whose music has a significant influence on my playing. These composers and guitarists have accompanied me over the past 20 years and have had a direct or indirect effect on how I understand and interpret music today.
Gergely Szurgyi, classical guitar
Gergely Szurgyi
was born in Hungary in 1994. He started playing the guitar at the age of nine, took private lessons for four years and attended Ede Roth's class at the Egressy Béni Conservatory from 2008. He completed his artistic guitar studies in 2019 and his master's degree at the Nuremberg University of Music in 2022. Gergely Szurgyi has been successful in numerous national and international competitions. In addition to playing solo, he attaches great importance to chamber music. Together with friends, he founded the Tritonus Guitar Trio in 2014, which has enjoyed numerous successes since then. Their greatest success was winning the Guitar Foundation of America Ensemble Competition in Miami in 2019.
Since 2022, he has also been working for Hanika Gitarrenbau as a consultant and sales representative.
