Info for And I’d Do It Again

Songs for the Dancefloor: Only the Poets come blazing back with And I’d Do It Again, a thrilling album that reminds us precisely why they’re one of the UK’s most promising new pop bands.

Over the course of 14 brilliantly produced songs, bandmates Tommy Longhurst, Andrew Burge, Clem Cherry and Marcus Yates open up with themes of heartbreak, jealousy, regret and hope.

“We’re just so proud of this album” Longhurst says. “It’s the best representation to date of us as a band – there’s been a lot of self-reflecting, growth and discovery.”

The album features all the stand out singles - I Keep On Messing It Up, You Hate That I’m In Love, Emotionally Hungover and Saké. Produced by bandmates Cherry and Yates with DanDlion, mixed by Lee Smith, and mastered from industry legend Chris Gehringer.

For those who may not know, Only The Poets is a four-piece band from Reading, consisting of Tommy Longhurst (singer), Andrew “Roo” Burge (bassist), Clem Cherry (guitarist), and Marcus Yates (drummer). The band started by releasing an EP called demos., full of demo versions of some of their first songs back in 2021, before joining Louis Tomlinson for the European leg of his first tour as a solo artist. After releasing a couple more singles and EPs, they released One More Night in 2024. This has been their biggest EP so far, and after a little time away to focus on writing, they have come back with a fantastic debut album. The album touches on topics of love, loss, mental health, and emotional resilience, sharing their truth through lived experiences.

“The album is about the chances you take, the sacrifices you make, and the moments that shape who you are. It’s about holding on to what matters most and owning your story. Every high, every low, every mistake, it’s all in here. In these moments, we think to ourselves: despite it all, if you could rewind and change any of it, would you? No.

Only The Poets

Only The Poets
Reading-based indie-pop trio, Only The Poets, have been releasing music and performing across the UK since their formation, but over the past year they have been gliding from strength to strength in the successes of their career.

After sitting down with lead singer, Tommy Longhurst, in February, it was clear to me that this band was one of great passion for their craft, and drive to succeed. Mentioning their up-coming UK headline tour dates, Tommy said that the band were ‘really excited, ‘cause every city you go to is different and that’s what makes it fresh’. Following this debut headline tour at the beginning of the year, Only The Poets went on to support Ten Tonnes on his album tour, and are set to play several festivals this summer, commencing their next headline tour on the 19th of October in Bournemouth.

This album contains no booklet.
