Info for Play America
The acoustic downbeat treat of New Order classic "Blue Monday" is still Flunk's greatest hit, but this might change after "Play". The track opening the US version of their second album "Morning Star" didn’t make it on the original release of the album. But the band did a total makeover of it for the US release last October, simply because this beautiful track deserved to be finished.
The makers of the US #1 TV show "The O.C." were also happy about the result. They made it the feature song in a January 2005 episode of the show, and it will also be included on their fourth mix album in March.
Flunk's "Morning Star" has been inside the top 40 albums on the American iTunes Top 100 download chart for more than two months, and "Play" is by far the most downloaded track from the album.
"Play America" includes all of the bonus tracks finished for the US release, including the beautiful "Probably" (originally recorded for the debut album "For Sleepyheads Only"), another New Order classic, "True Faith" (a different version than the b-side to "On My Balcony"), the poppy Skysong and the lush All My Dreams On Hold.
The second half of the album has some new and exclusive remixes of "Morning Star" tracks. Parliavox (who recently remixed Kings Of Convenience) have a beautiful remake of the title track, label mates Elektrofant have done a hysterical remix of "I've Been Waiting All My Life To Leave You", Tronso (of Psalt fame) and DJ Nils Noa have turned Flunk’s version of The Kinks' "All Day and All of the Night" into a dance floor killer, and yet more Beatservice colleagues, Athome Project and Slowpho, gives two different approaches on "Play".
