When The Humble Cheaters Waves make contact with the ear drum, they may cause x-ray vision, lucid day dreaming, indigestion, and uncontrollable dancing. So if you find yourself under the influence of The Humble Cheaters Waves, please rest assured that your mind is in good hands.

In early 2020, we set aside a week to head to a cabin upstate and record. We had no way of knowing what the state of the world would be when that time rolled around. But there we were, isolated in rural New York with nothing to do but work on our songs. We felt fortunate to have the opportunity to distract ourselves with something we love for six days as the places we called home seemed to fall into confusion and chaos.

Without running water, the woods served as our bathroom, the lake as our shower. We rose early each morning to sit by the dock and take in what nature had to offer us. There were no distractions, just music.

What we worked on in that short time came together in an unusually concentrated and natural way. The result, twelve songs that feel like us, perhaps more like us than anything else we’ve done. We therefore enshrine this album with the name “The Humble Cheaters.” We hope you’ll enjoy it.
