Info for Out of the Sun

Thermonuclear Indi/Rock unit Vdelli, have arrived on the world stage, on time, in form, now showcasing their unique and intoxicating new sound.

Michael Vdelli (Guitar/Vocal), Leigh Miller (Bass/Vocal) and Hajo Schüler (Drums/Vocal) collectively are a perfect storm, taking all before them in their stride, with no respite in sight.

Since securing the deal with German label Jazzhaus Records in 2010, the band has released five albums, each in turn upping the ante in songwriting, studio performances and critical acclaim.

An unlikely chain of events and a pinch of freak luck culminated in industry heavyweight Kevin 'Caveman' Shirley being in Perth to produce what would become VDELLI's first Jazzhaus release, 'Ain't Bringin' Me Down.” The band members were fully aware of the importance of working with an individual of this calibre, and so went about their business of putting all on notice that something serious was brewing here.

Since securing the deal with German label Jazzhaus Records in 2010, the band has released five albums, each in turn upping the ante in songwriting, studio performances and critical acclaim.

An unlikely chain of events and a pinch of freak luck culminated in industry heavyweight Kevin "Caveman" Shirley being in Perth to produce what would become VDELLI's first Jazzhaus release, "Ain't Bringin' Me Down.” The band members were fully aware of the importance of working with an individual of this calibre, and so went about their business of putting all on notice that something serious was brewing here.

The album was the catalyst for the opening of dialogue between the band and Jazzhaus Records, leading to the deal being struck. German "ROCKS" magazine was so taken by the material, it's writers voted it in the Top 50 rock releases for that year.

Musical versatility was on show with the follow up album "Take A Bite” produced with the guidance and creative stealth of Achim Lindermeir. The vast scope in style from one track the next was what broadened the band's general appeal. Again gaining first class reviews and feedback. Even after being voted into the Top 50 releases of that year by "ROCKS" magazine Germany again, ultimately the group found they were still searching for their true voice.

VDELLI's breakthrough came with their next venture, the snarling and venomous "Never Going Back". Risky and experimental, one can clearly hear the band's songwriting and studio performances gelling into something approaching profound. Still at this stage promoted as a blues band, the CD went Number 1 on the amazon.de Blues chart and Number 5 on amazon.de Alternative and Rock charts. A true indication that VDELLI's audience was considerably more expansive than initially identified.

All the while constantly working on expanding their tour circuit in Europe as well as holding down long term residencies while at home in Perth. Over 25 gruelling European tours played their part in shaping the group into a road hardened and resilient outfit. Reliable and always “ON" VDELLI increased their tour schedule from three modest shows in rural Germany on their first endeavour, to now be regularly performing at top concert clubs and festivals throughout extensive tours of Europe.

The volcanic live album "Live And On Fire" (Number 1 amazon.de Blues and Rock charts), arguably the band's best effort up until point, punctuated that king tide, unspoken confidence and straight right hand assault with which this group subjects its audience. An all original excursion, the band had found the direction and sound intrinsically natural, vibrant and truly original to them. While homage to heroes and undercurrent influences curiously catch the ear on occasion, the VDELLI sound is bonafide, immediate and singular.

Rebranding itself in line with the new sound as an Alternative Indi Rock group suited perfectly, culminating in the band being given the honour of opening up the massive Sweden Rock Festival, making an immediate and lasting impact.

In late 2014, again in collaboration with producer Achim Lindermeir, work began on the latest CD release "HIGHER". This meeting of minds has delivered a masterfully crafted album built on heart, guts and sinew. The general consensus arrived at by pundits suggests this is the best batch of new songs and the edgiest recorded performances the band has produced. And after hearing the new album, one can't help but to feel this is the sound the band has been searching for all along.

In the live situation the new tracks promise to provide an inexhaustible supply of opportunities to excel in free form jamming and "in the moment" interpretations of the songs unique to each performance. This is what the band prides itself on and guarantees to deliver to the audience every time.
