Info for For Someone I Love

For Someone I Love wears its heart on its sleeve as it navigates gracefully everywhere from tender acoustic lullabies, to jazz trumpet virtuosity, to prog rock distorted guitars and intricate bass lines.

The album is diverse, at times complex and irregular rhythmically, and at others featuring an almost indie folk sensibility. The upcoming debut album features intricate, catchy and clear compositions that are brought to life with a youthful and tenacious spirit. Always with one foot in the world of free improvisation, the music is spontaneous and inventive, while always feeling beautiful.

The title track is a musical love letter, declaring lyrically the expansiveness, and breadth of loving compassion. The song is in the acoustic folk vein, and is graceful and light-hearted.

The track features a lyrical guitar solo, and by the end it becomes loud, bombastic and heartfelt, channeling rock and roll with a complex descending melody and an intense drum performance.

Trevor Eulau is a composer, guitarist and educator based in Seattle, Washington. He is equally at home in the classical, jazz, and pop realms, writing music for string quartets, voice, jazz combos, rock/pop bands, dancers, and filmmakers, along with playing guitar for artists like High Pulp and Talaya. Above all else, Trevor looks to serve the music, and to support and uplift his collaborators and listeners.

Trevor Eulau

Trevor Eulau
is a composer and guitarist based in Seattle, Washington. He has always had eclectic musical interests, from playing guitar in free jazz ensembles, writing music for string quartet and choral ensembles with electronics, to supporting singers in RnB and funk groups. Trevor is a member of High Pulp, the experimental jazz collective who recently released their ANTI- Records debut ‘Pursuit of Ends’.

Backed up by musicians Jona Brown, Tony Lefaive and Ej Brannan, Trevor’s own upcoming debut album ‘For Someone I Love’ features intricate, catchy and clear compositions that are brought to life with a youthful and tenacious spirit. Always with one foot in the world of free improvisation, the music is spontaneous and inventive, jazz that borders on math rock with rhythmic complexity and heavy distorted guitar. The group recently played in MoPop’s Soundoff event, and later at Timber Fest in Carnation. EJ, Tony and Trevor all met at the University of Washington where they learned from trumpet virtuoso Cuong Vu and bassist Steve Rodby, who greatly inspired the sense of freedom in their music and opened their ears to a world of musical possibilities.
