All different, but still unmistakable - with their new EP “Not Your Face”, Searching for Home have completely reinvented themselves. With a fresh sound, the 11 musicians from all over Germany shed light on di&erent aspects of interpersonal relationships. Whether it's about relationships with oneself, hyperfocusing on one person or living apart - the band collective tells its stories with a driving forward momentum and a incredibly infectious optimism. During the tour for the award-winning previous album “Hidden Errors” (2022, Neuklang Records), the desire for change became stronger. Less, but more intense – with a clear contrast to their live sound. The result was 5 tracks in which Searching for Home were able to take their songwriting and production skills to a new level. A multitude of voices, orchestral brass sections, analog and digital synthesizers and a fan choir are just some of the many facets on the EP. With “Not Your Face”, Searching for Home sets new standards in their field of research between jazz and pop.

Searching for Home
Formed in 2016 from a drum duo, "Searching for Home" is now a band collective of music students and producers from all over Germany.

The members have their roots in jazz ensembles, indie bands, classical orchestras, gospel projects and musical productions. From all these influences, the young musicians create an unmistakable sound on the edge of pop music. Elements of jazz and soul find their place just as much as trap beats, African folklore or Latin American rhythms.

The band's goal is to give pop music, which often seems so stagnant, a new coat of paint, to make it more spontaneous and unpredictable without seeming cerebral or contrived.

Since their debut album "Let Yourself Break" (2019), "Searching for Home" has played concerts all over Germany, realised a live session production and collaborated with top-class artists from Germany and abroad, such as Rosie-Frater-Taylor from the Royal Academy of Arts London or the multi-award-winning jazz pianist Vincent Meißner from Leipzig. The band used the Corona break to prepare for their second album. "Hidden Errors" will be released on 30 September and presented on a German tour from August to November.
