Info for HOPE

More than three decades into an extraordinary career, Swedish progressive rock pioneers The Flower Kings return with HOPE, their 18th studio album and one of the most ambitious statements of their storied journey. Balancing refined musicianship with fearless creativity, the album is both a celebration of the band's legacy and a bold leap forward, embracing the grand, cinematic scope and adventurous spirit that have made them one of progressive rock's most beloved acts.

HOPE features a rich collection of expansive compositions, including the epic 30-minute centerpiece "The Gods of Rome." Drawing on themes of power, conflict, human ambition, and the state of the modern world, the album reflects on an era marked by division and diminishing empathy while ultimately delivering a message of optimism, compassion, and renewal. Rather than chasing contemporary trends, The Flower Kings remain committed to the organic, melodic sound that has defined them throughout their career. The result is an immersive listening experience filled with soaring melodies, virtuosic performances, lush arrangements, and moments of genuine emotional depth.

“At a certain point in life, you reach a phase where outside opinions lose their significance—and the creative process shifts toward making an album that you yourself would LOVE, even if it might not typically be viewed as a commercial endeavor. We, the band, trust that you—the audience—are curious, and that you trust us to provide you with a magnificent, radiant experience.” (Roine Stolt)

The Flower Kings
started as an outlet for guitarist/singer/composer Roine Stolt in 1994 – a time when prog-rock wasn’t mere history, nor a dirty word. The band quickly gained momentum and was one of a handful of bands helping to revive the progressive rock scene worldwide. Roine has since collaborated with a host of legendary musicians across various projects, including his acclaimed 2015 album with Yes-legend Jon Anderson, progressive-rock supergroup Transatlantic alongside Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy & Pete Trewavas, and a year as bass player with Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. The Flower Kings however, has always felt like home for Roine and the other band veterans Jonas Reingold & Hasse Fröberg.

This album contains no booklet.
