Ian Bostridge
CBE has made regular appearances at the Salzburg, Edinburgh, Munich, Vienna, Schwarzenberg and Aldeburgh festivals. He has had residencies at the Wiener Konzerthaus, Carnegie Hall New York, Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Philharmonie Luxembourg, London’s Barbican Centre and Wigmore Hall. In 2018 Ian began an auspicious Artistic Residency with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the first of its kind for the ensemble.

In opera, he has performed the roles Lysander (Britten A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for Opera Australia and at the Edinburgh Festival, Jeptha at the Opéra National de Paris, Tamino (Mozart Die Zauberflöte) and Jupiter (Handel Semele) for English National Opera and Peter Quint (Britten The Turn of the Screw), Don Ottavio (Mozart Don Giovanni) and Caliban (Adès The Tempest) for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. For the Bayerische Staatsoper he has sung Nerone (Monteverdi L’Incoronazione di Poppea), Tom Rakewell (Stravinsky The Rake’s Progress) and Male Chorus (Britten The Rape of Lucretia), for the Wiener Staatsoper he has sung Don Ottavio and for the Teatro alla Scala Milan he has sung Peter Quint. He has sung Aschenbach (Britten Death in Venice) for English National Opera, La Monnaie, Brussels and in Luxembourg.

Highlights of the 2019/20 season include his return to the operatic stage at the Deutsche Oper as Aschenbach Death in Venice; a tour of the USA with Brad Mehldau; performances of Schubert’s Winterreise at the Cartagena Music Festival in Colombia; a concert tour with Lucerne Festival Strings through Slovenia and Italy; Evangelist Matthew Passion in Torino and Bajazet in Handel’s Tamerlano with the Moscow State Philharmonic.

Antonio Pappano
One of today’s most sought-after conductors, acclaimed for his charismatic leadership and inspirational performances in both symphonic and operatic repertoire, Sir Antonio Pappano has been Music Director of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden since 2002, and Music Director of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome since 2005. Nurtured as a pianist, repetiteur and assistant conductor at many of the most important opera houses of Europe and North America, including at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and several seasons at the Bayreuth Festival as musical assistant to Daniel Barenboim for productions of Tristan und Isolde, Parsifal and Der Ring des Nibelungen, Pappano was appointed Music Director of Oslo’s Den Norske Opera in 1990, and from 1992-2002 served as Music Director of the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. From 1997-1999 he was Principal Guest Conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

Pappano is in demand as an opera conductor at the highest international level, including with the Metropolitan Opera New York, the State Operas of Vienna and Berlin, the Bayreuth and Salzburg Festivals, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Théâtre du Châtelet and the Teatro alla Scala. His repertoire at the Royal Opera House has been notably wide-ranging, generating acclaim in productions including Ariadne auf Naxos, Wozzeck, Falstaff, La Bohème, Don Giovanni, Aida, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Il Trittico, Parsifal, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Der Ring des Nibelungen, Lulu, Les Vêpres Siciliennes, Cavalleria Rusticana and I Pagliacci, Norma, Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg, Guillaume Tell, Andrea Chenier, Boris Godunov, The Queen of Spades, Semiramide and Szymanowski’s Król Roger, Birtwistle’s The Minotaur and Turnage’s Anna Nicole. Highlights of the 19/20 season include revivals of Otello, Tosca and Madama Butterfly, a tour of Japan with performances of Otello and Faust, and new productions of Fidelio and Elektra, featuring luminary singers including Jonas Kaufmann, Nina Stemme, Karita Mattila, Gerald Finley, Anna Netrebko and Bryn Terfel.

Pappano has appeared as a guest conductor with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Berlin, Vienna, New York and Munich Philharmonic Orchestras, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Chicago and Boston Symphonies, the Philadelphia and Cleveland Orchestras and the Orchestre de Paris. He maintains a particularly strong relationships with the London Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and forthcoming highlights include return visits to the Staatskapelle Dresden, Staatskapelle Berlin, London Philharmonic and Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, and widespread touring with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He also has a strong commitment to nurturing young singers and instrumentalists, and the summer of 2020 will see him deepening his connections with the Aldeburgh and Verbier Festivals, leading concerts and masterclasses.

Vilde Frang
Frang’s profound musicianship and exceptional lyricism has elevated her as one of the leading and most individual young artists.

In 2012 she was unanimously awarded the Credit Suisse Young Artists Award which led to her debut with the Wiener Philharmoniker under Bernard Haitink at the Lucerne Festival.

Regularly appearing with the world’s leading orchestras, 2016 saw Vilde make her acclaimed debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir Simon Rattle as part of their Europa Konzert; she returned during the 17-18 season for subscription concerts at the Philharmonie and the Baden Baden Easter Festival with Ivan Fischer. Other recent highlights have included performances with the San Francisco and Pittsburgh Symphonies, Munich and LA Philharmonics, Bamberger Symphoniker, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchester, Orchestre de Paris and Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as extensive European tours with the Deutsche Symphonie Orchester Berlin and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg.

The 2019-20 season sees Vilde give several highly anticipated debuts with the Bayerische Staatsorchester, Les Siècles and London Symphony Orchestra with Antonio Pappano. She will also embark on a tour with Rotterdam Philharmonic and Lahav Shani which will include her return to the Lucerne Festival. Other highlights of the season include engagements with Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Cleveland Orchestra, the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, the BBC Symphony Orchestra as well as the Budapest Festival Orchestra with Mark Elder. Performing with the Oslo Philharmonic twice this season, Vilde will give concerts with Vasily Petrenko as well as Herbert Blomstedt performing the Elgar Violin Concerto and Beethoven Violin Concerto respectively. Vilde will also return to China as part of a tour with the Bamberger Symphoniker with Jakub Hrůša.

A keen chamber musician, Vilde regularly appears at festivals in Rheingau, Lockenhaus, George Enescu Festival, Salzburg Festival and the Prague Spring Music Festival. She appears regularly in recital at the Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, Vienna Musikverein, Philharmonie Berlin, Wigmore Hall, Tonhalle Zurich and the Bozar in Brussels, as well as part of the Vancouver Recital Series, Boston Celebrity Series and San Francisco Performances. This season will include an evening recital at Wigmore Hall as well as performances of Beethoven String Trios with Lawrence Power and Nicolas Altstaedt. Performing at the International Chamber Music Series at London Southbank, the Trio will also perform at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg and Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

Vilde Frang is an exclusive Warner Classics artist and her recordings have received numerous awards. She is the recipient of the Classic BRIT Award, “Diapason d’Or” by Diapason Magazine, Académie Charles Cros’ «Grand Prix du Disque», Deutsche Schallplattenpreis and the Echo Klassik Award. She also received a Gramophone Award in the Concerto category for her recording of Korngold’s Violin Concerto and Britten’s Violin Concerto.

Nicolas Altstaedt
German-French cellist Nicolas Altstaedt is one of the most sought after and versatile artists today. As a soloist, conductor and artistic director, he performs repertoire spanning from early music to the contemporary.

This season he is Artist in Residence at the SWR Symphonie Orchestra, where he will perform with Teodor Currentzis on tour at major european venues. Other upcoming highlights include a tour with B’Rock and René Jacobs, OCE with Philippe Herreweghe, Debuts with the National Symphony Orchestra Washington and Ed Gardner, the NHK and Yomiuri Symphony at Suntory Hall , European Youth Orchestra with Vasily Petrenko, Orchestre National de France with Emmanuel Krivine, Il Giardino Armonico at Grafenegg Festival, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Les Violons du Roy, Netherland Philharmonic and Radio Philharmonic with Ben Gernon and Edo de Waart at Het Concertgebouw, Residentie Orkest and reinvitations to the DSO Berlin with Robin Ticciati, Gürzenich Orchestra and Karina Canellakis, Rotterdam Philharmonic with Lahav Shani and the BBC Symphony at the Proms.

Recent highlights include a residency at the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, concerto debuts with Detroit Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra with the world premiere of Sebastian Fagerlunds Cello Concerto; recital debuts at BOZAR Brussels, Carnegie Hall, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Paris and Koerner Hall, Toronto and a tour through Australia.

As a conductor, he will debut with the SWR Stuttgart, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, the Aurora, Zurich and Scottish Chamber Orchestras and the Orquesta Nacional de Espana . During the 17/18 season, Nicolas gave the highly acclaimed Finnish Premiere of Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Cello Concerto under the baton of the composer at the Helsinki Festival and was also the Artist in Spotlight at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.

Awarded the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award in 2010, he gave a critically praised performance of the Schumann Concerto with the Vienna Philharmonic under Gustavo Dudamel at the Lucerne Festival. Since then, he has performed worldwide with orchestras such as the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, all BBC Orchestras, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras with conductors including Sir Roger Norrington, Francois Xavier Roth, Sir Andrew Davis, Lahav Shani, Sir Neville Marriner, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Christoph Eschenbach Andrew Manze, Juraj Valcuha, Dima Slobodeniouk, Thomas Dausgaard, Thomas Hengelbrock, Giovanni Antonini and Andrea Marcon amongst others.

In 2012, Nicolas was chosen by Gidon Kremer to succeed him as the new artistic director of the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival and in 2014 by Adam Fischer to become the new Artistic Director of the Haydn Philharmonie whom he regularly performs with at the Vienna Konzerthaus, Esterházy Festival and recently on tour in both China and Japan. Nicolas will be Artistic Director of the Pfingstfestspiele Ittingen 2019 and 2020.

As a chamber musician, Nicolas partners include with Janine Jansen, Vilde Frang, Christian Tetzlaff, Pekka Kuusisto, Tabea Zimmermann, Lawrence Power, Antoine Tamestit, Martin Fröst, Alexander Lonquich, Jonathan Cohen, Jean Rondeau and the Quatuor Ébène. He performs at both Salzburg Mozart and Summer Festival, Verbier, Utrecht, BBC Proms, Lucerne, Gstaad, Musikfest Bremen, Schleswig-Holstein and Rheingau. Nicolas regularly perfoms new music and has performed and worked with Thomas Ades, Jörg Widmann, Wolfgang Rihm, Thomas Larcher, Fazil Say and Sofia Gubaidulina. Anders Hillborg, Helena Winkelman and Fazil Say are writing concertos for him in the next seasons.

Nicolas’ recording of CPE Bach Concertos on Hyperion with Arcangelo and Jonathan Cohen received the BBC Music Magazine Concerto Award 2017. His latest recording – Four Cities – a recital programme of works by Say, Debussy, Shostakovich and Janacek with Fazil Say was released on Warner Classics to great acclaim and received the Edison Klassiek 2017. In 2018 Nicolas received the Musikpreis der Stadt Duisburg. Nicolas was a BBC New Generation Artist 2010-2012 and a recipient of the „Borletti Buitoni Trust Fellowship“ in 2009.
