Internationally acclaimed pianist Kirill Zvegintsov performs at renowned festivals including the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Davos Festival, Festival Piano à Saint-Ursanne, Murten Classics, Musikfestival Bern, Seetal Classics, Klavierfest Berlin-Weißensee and Musiksommer am Zürichsee. He performed in such famous concert halls as salle Cortot in Paris, Naxoshalle in Frankfurt am Main, Mannheim National Theater, Musical Theater Basel and Casino Berne among others. Kirill Zvegintsov is a multiple prize-winner of important piano competitions - including those in Orléans, Toronto, Calgary and the Bach Competition Würzburg.
As a soloist he performed with such orchestras as Basel Sinfonietta, Berner Symphonieorchester, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie, Orchester des Theaters für Niedersachsen. Since 2024, he has been a member of Ensemble Phoenix Basel, he also has collaborated with such artists as Christina Daletska, Lisa Rieder, Tianwa Yang, Olivier Vivares, Leonhard Dering, Bartek Wąsik, Helena Winkelman, Robert Koller, Giuliano Sommerhalder, Heinz Holliger and Patricia Kopatchinskaja.
The repertoire of the Ukrainian pianist and conductor, who has lived in Switzerland since 2005, ranges from contemporary music to the baroque. Kirill Zvegintsov likes to perform unconventional programmes and little-known works. Despite his strong commitment to contemporary music, he remains deeply rooted in the classical tradition, with works such as Bach’s complete Well-Tempered Clavier, Shostakovich’s 24 Preludes and Fugues and Messiaen’s Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant Jésus as part of his core repertoire.
In 2025, WERGO will release his latest CD featuring solo piano works by Heinz Holliger, created in close collaboration with the composer. He has published several other audio recordings, among them a live-performance CD of 24 Preludes and Fugues by Dmitri Shostakovich produced under the Müller&Schade label (2012). Another album, “Eaux-Fortes”, featuring compositions by Couperin, Debussy, George Hugon and Jacques Lenot under the FY-Solstice label (2019), received enthusiastic critical acclaim.
Kirill Zvegintsov is the co-founder of the concert series Konzerte am Ausserberg in Riehen, a permanent member of Ensemble Phoenix Basel, and co-conductor of the chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Bern.
