The album Musica Warmiensis, vol. 3 is the next installment of a project that unearths from the depths of history works of sacred music from the second half of the 18th and first half of the 19th centuries, performed by church bands existing in the Warmia region. The musical notations from that period were found in the collection of the Library of the Warmia Metropolitan Seminary “Hosianum” in Olsztyn by its director, Rev. Dr. Tomasz Garwolinski, who is the originator and main implementer of the project. These are mostly vocal and instrumental compositions of a sacred character: arias, vespers, litanies, offertories, graduals, masses, but also symphonies and others. In the collection of musical manuscripts kept in the “Hosianum” Library, the largest group are those associated with the collegiate church in Dobre Miasto (German: Guttstadt). The earliest date mentioned in the discussed group of manuscripts and copies is 1774. The processing, reconstruction of the manuscripts and selection of works for realization in the series Musica Warmiensis is handled by Dr. Pawel Hulisz. ...
