Das neue Album von Christina Aguilera heißt "Lotus", ist das siebte Studio-Album der 31-jährigen Amerikanerin und Nachfolger von "Bionic" aus dem Jahr 2010.
Für das Songwriting entschied sich Aguilera diesmal nicht für ihre langjährige Partnerin Linda Perry, sondern für neue Kollegen wie Alex Da Kid, Sia, Shellback und Max Martin.
Auch wenn die Veröffentlichung des letzten Christina Aguilera-Studioalbums "Bionic" bereits zwei Jahre zurückliegt - die Sängerin und Schauspielerin war in der Zwischenzeit nachweislich alles andere als faul. Nachdem sie mit dem Film "Burlesque" und dem gleichnamigen Soundtrack große Erfolge abseits der Single-Popcharts feiern konnte, war sie im Sommer 2011 als Gastsängerin des Maroon 5-Smashs "Moves Like Jagger" auch an einem der weltweiten größten Hitsingles des Jahres beteiligt. Seit 2011 ist sie zudem Coach bei der erfolgreichen US-TV-Show "The Voice".
In den vergangenen zwölf Monaten arbeitete sie außerdem an ihrem fünften (englischsprachigen) Studioalbum "Lotus", das am 9. November erscheinen wird. Die erste Single trägt den Titel "Your Body". Der Song, der in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Pop-Dreamteam Max Martin, Shellback und Savan Kotecha entstand.
