Nach der Veröffentlichung seines hochgelobten Debütalbums "Wake" im Jahr 2021 hat Colouring nun seine Pläne für ein neues Studioalbum angekündigt, das Anfang nächsten Jahres erscheinen soll.

Das neue Album "Love To You, Mate" wird den bereits veröffentlichten Track "Lune" enthalten, wird durch die neue Leadsingle "For You" angekündigt und soll am 23. Februar über Bella Union veröffentlicht werden.

Über das neue Album sagt er: "For You" handelt von einer Zeit, die mein Leben und das meiner Familie für immer verändert hat, als ich die Nachricht von der Krebsdiagnose meines Schwagers erhielt. Was folgte, waren 11 Monate der Ungewissheit, des Zusammenseins und des Feierns der gemeinsamen Liebe und Freundschaft in einer Familie. For You', das ich mit meinen Freunden und langjährigen Mitarbeitern Gianluca Buccellati und Mikko Gordon aufgenommen habe, ist das erste Kapitel meiner neuen Platte Love To You, Mate".

Er fügt über die neue Platte hinzu: "Ich war schon immer eher auf der Seite des Erfindens von Szenarien, als dass ich in meiner Musik wirklich ehrlich über mein Leben gesprochen hätte. Dies ist das erste Mal, dass ich das tun konnte. Ich hatte weniger Angst davor, weil es nicht meine Geschichte ist. Es ist eine gemeinsame Geschichte."

Alternative music project Colouring is the moniker for composer and music producer Jack Kenworthy. As a composer and producer, Kenworthy has collaborated with names including Gianluca Buccellati, Mikko Gordon, Robin Hannibal, the 1975’s George Daniel, Tourist and Mysie. Recent credits include the writing/production of ‘Everything I Ever Wanted’ by Jordan Fisher for Netflix’s ‘Hello, Goodbye and Everything In Between’.

Following a run of early EPs released via Interscope Records that caught the attention of Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Annie Mac, Colouring’s acclaimed debut album Wake was released in May 2021. Melodically influenced by the 00s post-Britpop greats (early Coldplay, Elbow, Keane), whilst taking electronic and rhythmic cues from the likes of Radiohead and James Blake, the album saw Colouring finesse his kaleidoscopic beat-driven dream-pop on blissful tracks such as “Fading” and “Beautiful Life”.

Currently putting the finishing touches to the upcoming second album, which is his most and personal and compelling work to date and will be released via a new label home in early 2024. More details will be revealed soon….

Alongside Colouring, Jack studied Popular Music at Goldsmiths University and later a Masters in electroacoustic composition at the Nottingham University, with research interests in real-world sound composition, electronic music, acoustic ecology and microtonality. His acoustic compositions explore the socio-political nature of sound.
